Image of a bright orange flower (known as Pride of Barbados). Picture shows "frilly" margins on the petals which seem to glow. Long red pistils extend from the flower. Dark red/maroon stems frame the subject and create interesting geometric shapes in the background in strong contrast to the sensuous shape of the flower. The plabt's bright green foliage adds nice balance and contrast of color.

Time has taken its toll as the burnt orange paint has cracked and faded revealing the also decaying silver paint below. Dark cracks delineate random patterns in lines and arcs. Focal point is a key hole used for unlocking the hydrant by firefighters or maintenance crews. Picture was taken in subdued lighting, overcast sky.
