30 years after being first designed & DA approved, finally next batch of 6 out of 18 attached houses finally under construction! First 4 were completed in 1999 (need to be patient to be an architect!) Corner ones are compact courtyard types opening to generous gardens, straightforward construction

We keep waiting, decade after decade, for prefabrication to have an impact on construction in Australia… Was always a great hope of modernity, & there have always been some outlier, outstanding examples, but would take concerted Govt & industry coordination & investment to start to make it happen

Out in the sprawling new suburbs at Willowdale in Sydney’s south west, welcome to some well-judged public architecture. Actually quite small group of sports facilities, brought together by a generous over-sailing red roof, transparent screens & red brick bleachers. Great work #samcrawfordarchitects
