Portraiture study. It’s somehow easier for my brain to draw older people than it is to draw young people.
Anatomy study - arm Proportions are ever so slightly off. And the shadings a mess but it is the first drawing of the day so everything’s all over the place.
Quick 5min sketches - feet. I did not have “feet” on my “things that’ll be tricky to draw 2026” bingo card.
Figure study. Could have done the foreshortening on the legs. Better. Going forward I’ll be making an active attempt at drawing faces
Portraiture study. Think the proportions are correct. That left (viewer) eye looks kinda dead. Lacks the charm of the reference image. But I’m quite happy with my first real attempt. Did this in black because I have a headache today and I don’t want to strain my eyes. The skull is in red Though.
Anatomy study. Made the ribs rounder than they actually are in an attempt to help myself visualize how they move in space. Then I got tired and didn’t bother fixing it.
Figure study. Better. Connection from the left pectoral to the deltoid could have been cleaned up.
Anatomy and perspective study. This is close but not quite there. Michael Hampton’s method of breaking down the head into boxes really helps with perspective.
Anatomy study. Ignore the shading the main takeaway is that the rubs suck to draw and I at least now have a better understanding of how it connects to the spine. Also the pelvis I’ve draw is waaay more open than in the reference image.
Figure study. The legs need work. Need to rotate the ribcage towards the viewer more think I’ve straightened them out more than I should have.
Number 4 needs more arms. The anatomy doesn’t have to make sense! Let’s just say it’s magic pectoral muscles that moves the top arm around. But somehow they inexplicably both have their own collar bones.
Turns out the pencil brush I made once blown up gives off some cool texture too.
🤷 doodle of a poorly proportioned baby? Anatomy’s all over the place so it’s essentially a blob with wings.
Skeletal study. Pelvis is a liiitle blocky and the shoulder blade is oddly shaped. Heads moved forward compared to the reference image. This is also my first time drawing individual ribs, which is visually really confusing.
Quick loose gesture sketches. Brain fog. Can’t really charge my brain with learning anything today so we’re just doing some quick loose gesture drawings.
Barn Owl. Feathers make no sense. I did draw this on a off day so I think I’ll Let that slide today.
Figure sketches More quick sketches ~ 5 min. Turns out I’ve learned enough anatomy to just draw what ever. None of these are perfect but they’re on the right track.
Traced figure studies. It’s tedious but drawing skeletons and muscles over an image has honestly helped me quite a bit.
Figure study. *Chanting* “the first study you do is always trash” Foreshortening is off everywhere. But I did draw a face.
I did the thing, as I have never done the thing before. Hope you like the thing. #MerMay
Figure study. Today’s a very scratchy searching line kind of day. Their left side oblique needs more work as does the neck.
