Over the years I had 7 rotties. Big lap dogs. This was our last one, who went to Rainbow Bridge 14 years ago. Even at 10, she still looked like a pup.

Morning MJ & all. Hubs getting his post op catheter removed tomorrow so he’s in an upbeat mood. 🤞that this chapter is nearly finished. Only managed one painting yesterday. The difference between wet and dry was pretty stark; hopefully varnish will bring back the vibrancy. Love the Aztec bathroom!

I can attest. Last year I painted pumpkins with my grandsons. I just poured the paint over it & made some cool designs. That led me to discover acrylic paint pouring, something I’d never heard of. It’s now my obsession. I can no longer do crafts like knitting but I can do this. It’s my happy place.

Morning MJ & all. I think we just got some light rain last night but yeah the humidity is kicking my lungs. Had fun painting yesterday. Feeling better about scraping something completely off the canvas if I don’t like it. 2 out 3 wasn’t bad. Laying low again today and setting positive intentions.

Morning MJ & all. No rain here. Managed to do a small painting yesterday. Think I added too much black. Was watching the Blanche hearing & got tired of yelling at my tv so switched to @malcolmnance.bsky.social ‘s daily Iran warcast to at least be informed. Off to the casino for much needed escapism.

Morning MJ & all. Can’t believe how much I miss the grandpups. Didn’t stay too long at the kids house yesterday; they were exhausted. Showed our son the painting I did with his chosen color scheme; he loves it so will get it framed. Love their new digs. The boys do too. Just 10 minutes further away.

It’s been nuts up here! I had to let my granddogs out and Alice (a long haired dachshund mix) was terrified. She couldn’t get inside fast enough!

Got really promising news for hubby. We thought he was going to have to deal with a chronic health issue for the rest of his life but he will be able to have surgery to basically fix the problem. Plus we’re babysitting our granddogs this week.

Morning MJ & all. Had a quiet day. Tuned in time to see NYC fireworks which were spectacular. Didn’t bother with DC. I can’t imagine how PO’d people were at all that noise/smoke at midnight; screaming babies, terrified pets, people with PTSD. Almost seems deliberate. Alice conquered scaling the bed!

Happy Independence Day all! Dogs slept in their crates last night but we invited them on the bed. Alice had to be picked up & didn’t like it but she was happy once I put her down. Gonna lay low today. What should have been a glorious celebration is more of a reminder of what our founders fought for.

Got a nice cloudburst along with a 2 hour power outage. I was starting this painting when it went out. Then I had a major paint spill with 2 glass bottles of white paint that shattered. What a mess. When I picked up my old area rug it was covered in disintegrated backing so today I’m redoing it all!

Morning MJ & all. Got a slight drizzle, maybe later. Made a necklace out of some acrylic spillover (called skins). Not sure how, but the drips created this cute little flower. It’s now sealed for prosperity. MJ don’t forget to tell me what colors you’d like in the background for your tree painting!

Morning MJ & all. Pretty quiet day yesterday. Got some stuff on Prime day I’d been keeping an eye on waiting for them to go on sale. SCOTUS is sure to disappoint; horrible rulings as they flee town is my guess. Got really inspired by a video I watched yesterday & painted this. 7/4 rain? 🤞🤞🤞

Morning MJ & all. So glad you’re recovery is going smoothly. Been trying to learn how to do a Dutch pour, where you blow base paint back over the colors. It’s going to be a summer of practice. The white ones weren’t too bad but the black ones were awful. Practice makes perfect. Earthquake in Belen?

Morning MJ & all. Feeling much better today. Got back in the painting zone. Caught a squirrel enjoying the bird bath suctioned to my window. Guess they can climb stucco. Stayed up late hoping to see the Kennedy Ctr restored. The tarp was no surprise. Cover up is the through line of this admin.

This guy enjoys foraging under the feeder. The white winged doves are insatiable.

Nowhere near as bad (or big) as they were in Texas. Meanwhile as we pulled out of the driveway, I marveled at how glorious my cholla is. I don’t think it’s ever had this many blooms. 💕

Morning MJ & all. Tried using the hummingbird feeder attachment for the birdcam & the sugar ants swarmed the area. Had to take it off and there were hundreds of them that drowned in that little container. The hummers will have to go next door. Saw this critter as I was getting out of the shower.

Morning MJ & all. Good luck tomorrow Here’s to unobstructed nasal passages! Did a fun experiment yesterday with “ghost” pigments. They look white when they go on but show their color when drying. Here’s a before and after. I may have to try one with actual white because I do like the contrast.

Morning MJ & all. Got my drying rack put together. Not bad for repurposing stuff we had in the garage. The only thing I had to buy was little dowels to hold the racks. Nothing pretty but it’s functional. Haven’t painted in over a week so today it’s on the agenda. Bet you’re looking forward to Monday

Howdy all. Abe’s graduation was freaking adorable. They walked in to pomp and circumstance, did a musical number then got their diplomas. The place was packed. I loved that they went all out for them. He loved his stuffy so much he took it to school. Roofer came while we were gone.

Morning all. It was windy AF all night. I had just transplanted some verbena plants to a pot & brought it inside because I thought the wind would yank them out. Had more fun experimenting yesterday. I think I’m getting some of the techniques down to create “cells”. I’m slowly getting them hung up.

Afternoon MJ & all. Finally decided to turn the AC on & saw our temps will be cooling down. I think with all the wind I’d rather keep my windows shut & my sinuses clear. Been painting a lot today. Threw paint on bubble wrap then “squished” the canvas into the paint. Got 4 smaller ones out of it.

Morning all! Hanging out at the doctors office for hubby. We thought he was seeing the urologist but he’s on vacation so we should have been able to reschedule. Had more fun painting yesterday. Tried a new technique covering beads in paint , placing them on a wet canvas and gently pulling them off.

Afternoon MJ & all. I realized I had made an omission in my pouring process & now wanting to try all kinds of stuff! This is what I’ve been up to the last few days. It’s really helping to keep me from screaming. Watched the Dem oversight hearing this morning. @repstansbury.bsky.social did us proud.
