DRC Ebola update: Passing 4,000 confirmed cases and 1,850 deaths.

In the 11 weeks since the Ebola outbreak was detected, 3,973 confirmed cases and 1,801 deaths have been reported in the DRC. For context, the West Africa outbreak recorded 454 cases during the same time period.

Very worrying. DRC just reported 125 new confirmed Ebola cases in a single 24 hour period, right after passing 100 daily cases for the first time yesterday. The outbreak is accelerating, not just driven by more testing: 50% of all tests in Ituri were positive.
