Registration for my fall middle school (6th-8th) creative writing class opens tomorrow! I keep this class to 8 students so that each child has space to share their voice. If you are interested make sure to grab a spot this weekend.

Sunday is my daddy's birthday. Our first without him here. Daddy loved fun, joy, adventure, wonder, beauty, silliness. He loved theater, music, movies, food, family and friends. He loved being a dad.
We are having a really hard time meeting this need but we are not giving up! Please pray, light a candle, send your hopeful energy and then please share and give as you are able.

Y'all, a Rise woman is beginning the quilt for our "cottage room" at Rise House and I am beside myself with excitement!!! This is one of the last finishing touches on this room being completely done and it is going to be so freaking beautiful 😭😍
OK plant folks, I need climbing vine recommendations that would look as pretty as these sweet potato vines but would be year round happy in Texas (8b). Ideally they could purchased as seeds (on a VERY tight budget). I am able to hand water them as often as needed. Ideas?
Baby in big bowwwwwww! Please look at this precious little love. The cousin crew has grown and this aunt is so happy to have another baby to love and make memories for and with. E (6) said this when I showed her pictures of her new cousin, "I hope she's my type! Crafty and...chaotic!"

Pilgrim is one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. I cannot recommend it enough. If you spend $2.99 to rent it and don't agree I will literally pay you back.
I went to a program at the library yesterday and thought I would use it as a chance to remind you that you should look up your library's schedule for this upcoming week and pick an event to go to.

Being a millennial leader of a nonprofit composed of mostly young-ish people is great because I just found an official document labeled "Plumbing Debacle" and no one ever blinked an eye at that title. It was indeed a DEBACLE.
The trip in which I unknowingly purchased us tickets to an improv show that was all in Spanish. I spent that hour in that blackbox theater contemplating my resignation. The girls on the other hand, thought it was the funniest thing that had ever happened.
We have had so many wonderful people serve on our Rise board of directors over these 15 years. Thankful for the presence of @andihumphries.bsky.social and @mollyjasi.bsky.social in the world and in our community!
We received word from Mayo Clinic that Daddy’s diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy was correct. I'm thankful he donated his brain & that it will help move the needle the tiniest bit towards understanding, treating & hopefully one day curing the disease that stole him at only 64 years old.
