Hoot Patoots
@hoot
Hi there, I make art and games (Helvetii, Splash Blast Panic) and streams (twitch.tv/hoot_patoots)
Trying out some ambiance test (with probuilder and some ico music), recreating a room from the 2d version and concept art. Hey turns out making good 3d environment is harder than i thought :V (especially trying to recreate a stylized look)
Finishing up Mui's gliding animation. Made it a point that she has a big smile doing it, cuz having fun is allowed :>
Got double jump working, dashes/airdashes and wallrunning. Gotta tweak some animations for it and edge cases but they work! Next step will be wall sliding and gliding, and Mui will have all her moves in 3d (barring grappling hook which will be trickier to implement, but I have an inkling of an idea)
Continued the animation on Mui and I think i'll stop here to focus more on some test levels and cameras. There's a weird jitter on the jump but i'm happy with how she looks and moves :>
Also I couldn't post this yesterday cuz my internet was bad, but I like how she swishes her big F%$%$N coattail when she walks
WE HAVE ACHIEVED MOVEMENT Aaaaaa she's so coooool! Also i'm experimenting with a stepped interpolation modifier to keep it close to that "traditional animation" feel I was going for in 2D. I quite like it!
after much suffering with skin weights....I think I'm at a good place with this model
Anyway she lookin' GOOD. Honestly i'm so proud of myself. This is my first proper detailed humanoid model (even if still stylized). We'll see how it goes with the rigging but I'm so glad of how she came out. Still some texturing to go and then it's skinning and animation !
God I forgot how much texturing and shaders really is the thing that brings a model together. 3D truely is the "you gotta sludge through the much and believe in it for a good while" type art.
Been working on converting Mui to 3D and it's been going nice so far. I'm taking it very slow to make sure I don't do mistakes. Next step will be making the big tunic/cloak , belt, the feathers and then it'll be the dreaded face and retopolgy...
I'm watching a swiss gov video on rights regarding job resignation, and one of their example of a work you're not satisfied with is apparently "Man working at the clown factory"
Finished this piece for my friend Ironbell yesterday ~ fun to do big illustration pieces again. Romanticism style is fun to simulate too
Had to recently do a poster for Beach Slap for a conv and am really happy with this little fake summer holiday ad postcard #SwissGames #BeachSlap
Thank you @shenpai.gay for the amazing new step in Voxer's very bad no good day where he gets to beef with coughing baby
One day I should face my own flimbo, who was called Blupi in Switzerland (and speedy eggbert when it got brought to the US)
