#365Films 200 - The Matrix released in 1999. Changed the way films were made. How many times have you seen bullet time since this came out. The other 3 movies never quite hit the highs of this movie.

#365Films 199 - The Iron Giant released in 1999. One of my favorite animated films. The look of this film is just different than most other animation.

#365Films 198 - The Blair Witch Project released in 1999. This movie created the found footage genre in the modern era with the layer of horror on top. So many films since with similar formula. It really shook me in the theaters.

#365Films 197 - Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace in 1999. After 15 years between films Star Wars is back. Was it a great movie, no. It was another Star Wars movie though.

#365Films 196 - Office Space released in 1999. A flop in theaters but went on to be a cult classic for sure. Defined office culture in the late '90's and beyond in cubicles.

#365Films 195 - Mystery Men released in 1999. Goofy almost anti-superhero movie. Kind of wish they could make another one to goof on the current movies.

#365Films 194 - Dogma released in 1999. Kevin Smith's best movie? Great use of young Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with a dash of Alan Rickman. AKA Jay and Silent Bob meet God.

#365Films 193 - Cruel Intentions released in 1999. Kind of the teen thriller version of American Pie comedy for the late '90's.

#365Films 192 - Bicentennial Man released in 1999. Robin Williams dressed as a tin man and crawled so Haley Joel Osment could run in A.I.

#365Films 191 - Any Given Sunday released in 1999. One of the best NFL football movies. Truly unhinged screaming Al Pacino.

#365Films 190 - American Pie released in 1999. This movie felt like it relaunched the raunchy comedy genre that had existed in '80's.

#365Films 189 - American Beauty released in 1999. Watching this as a 23 year old when it came out is very different than now as almost 50 year old.

#365Films 188 - 10 Things I Hate About You released in 1999. A not raunchy '90's teen comedy. Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt early in their careers. Maybe on the level of Breakfast Club for the next generation?

#365Films 187 - Wild Things released in 1998. A good thriller mystery with twists and turns. Oh, and Denise Richards is in it too.

#365Films 186 - The X Files released in 1998. Take one of my favorite TV shows and give it a much bigger budget for a two episode length story. Yep, you got me.

#365Films 185 - The Truman Show released in 1998. Jim Carrey showing his range as more than a comedy actor. Also prophetic to the reality TV and influencer nightmare we now have.

#365Films 184 - The Replacement Killers released in 1998. Another in the year of Mira Sorvino. This time paired with Chow Yun-Fat in an Antoine Fuqua crime action thriller.

#365Films 183 - The Negotiator released in 1998. A great thriller with Samuel L. Jackson facing off against Kevin Spacey.

#365Films 182 - Sphere released in 1998. Another Michael Crichton adaptation. Unfortunately, not a very good one. Has a pretty good cast though.

#365Films 181 - Small Soldiers released in 1998. Imagine a cross between G.I. Joe and Toy Story. Not a great film but sticks in my memory. Unfortunately, Phil Hartman's last film.

#365Films 180 - Saving Private Ryan released in 1998. One of the greatest war movies ever made. It is a pretty hard watch but gives you a perspective on what happened.

#365Films 179 - Rush Hour released in 1998. Definitely questionable racial stereo types in this film. What was a normal funny thing in the late '90's would not play as well today. The sequels were diminishing returns.

#365Films 178 - Rounders released in 1998. A really good poker film before poker became a big thing. A young Matt Damon with Edward Norton.

#365Films 177 - Out of Sight released in 1998. One of Jlo's few film roles but a pretty good one. Add in a young George Clooney for good crime comedy.

Somebody beat you to the handle by 6 months. Zero videos and 125 subscribers. Sheesh.

#365Films 176 - Enemy of the State released in 1998. An early cyberspace thriller. Technology watching you everywhere. It was very predictive of where we are now.

#365Films 175 - Deep Impact released in 1998. The thinking / drama asteroid movie of 1998. Very different than the other one but still enjoyable.

Last black Friday I bought my son this computer www.costco.com/p/-/cyberpow.... It was at the time $849. I thought it was a pretty good deal. It is now 6 months later, and it is $1499. Wow this timeline is bad.

#365Films 174 - Dark City released in 1998. I described the Matrix as a cross between this film and T2. I think this explores very similar themes to Matrix.
