this handsome boy is the eurasian tree sparrow. 20 individuals were introduced from Germany into western MO in 1870 and today there is a stable pop of <15,000 primarily in the St. Louis metro; they’re found pretty much nowhere else in the US. They love to hang out in my yard and they are my friends
