Our cats are still in snooze mode, so it’s just me.

My sick day largely involved building the haunted train configuration of my Haunted Mansion Lego set. I think this might be my most favourite Lego set ever.

Nurse Pekapeka is on the job. J & I are both feeling a bit better than yesterday, but are taking things very gently. Wondering if this is what happens when you encounter a flu you’ve been vaccinated against.

Pekapeka is unimpressed because Daddy confiscated his ball in the night.

Heading to a midwinter Christmas lunch at Mum’s resthome in a bit. A handy excuse to whip out these fun tights for which it is always too hot at actual Christmas. (I am apparently unable to apply even the smallest bit of gorm to my facial expressions today)

Matariki lemon pie. I made the crust from scratch but the filling is a total cheat involving a packet of lemon instant pudding and a jar of lemon curd.

For a cat who took a long time to warm up, Pekapeka really has mastered the art of the snuggle.

I was expected the bruise from yesterday’s bloodletting to be worse, but it’s still pretty decent.

Pekapeka’s meows always sound a bit mournful, even when he’s happily playing. Often I think it sounds like he’s saying “Oh no, oh no”
