Photography and bullshit, not necessarily in that order. If you follow me for photography be ready to put up with some bullshit; if you follow me for bullshit good news, you'll also get to see some pretty pictures time to time as a bonus! He/they

If you do the refreshments at a key party pot-luck style it's like 80% pineapple upside-down cakes right?
Mods probably awake by now (at least in this hemisphere), still posting pinnipeds.
I just don't understand why they use such different packaging for their brown sauce and their black sauce (the latter is also super expensive and imo tastes awful)
Cormorant posting? Heck yeah, here's a Kāruhiruhi/pied shag (Phalacrocorax varius) from a colony tree that was near one of the places I stayed in Aotearoa (NZ) last year #birds
OK but a basketball dunk, I'm sure even in that prototypical form, just does not resemble that action at all, unless without letting go of the ball they gingerly put it part way into the hoop and then lifted it back out again...
#makeaterriblecomicday #makeaterriblecomicday2026 Decided to draw a favorite stupid gentle pun I came up with years back. May help to read the last panel aloud.
@cbbworld.bsky.social DJ Dead Poisson was right and the Charleston audience was wrong! Source: web.archive.org/web/20110721...
Got an ice cream maker for myself for my birthday, this week made stracciatella gelato and it came out really good
It's kind of funny how all the licensed stuff is in its own twisted way full circle to the early days before M:tG had developed its own cohesive setting and a lot of the flavor was just a mishmash of literature and scripture and history and myth
Figured out why I've been seeing these guys around so much. (Thankfully nothing I need on that shelf the next few months so as long as they need it it's theirs!) #birds
These Bewick's wrens have chosen the bushes around my back patio as a favorite foraging this spring (had seen them around once or twice in the past but last few weeks they're here every evening) <3 #birds #birding #birdphotography #photography #naturephotography #wildlifephotography
I recently got an ice cream maker which means I can now make my favorite old person ice cream flavor that none of the brands available here even seem to sell anymore:
Took pics of two very differently sized pollen and nectarvores this evening—black tailed honeybee (Bombas melanopygus), about the size of my thumbnail, and varied carpet beetle (Anthrenus verbasci), about the size of a small sesame seed #insects #photography #macrophotography #wildlifephotography
It’s still #FemaleBirdDay! It’s celebrated all through Memorial Day weekend. So please bring out more lovely ladies! Red-winged blackbird, no namesake epaulettes but makes up for it with the patterning created by the contrasting margins on her wing feathers #birds #birdphotography #photography
My favorite way to solve these is to introduce variables, until defined "p" can equal any value so there's nothing "incorrect" about defining it as seven ninths!
Ignored TLC's advice this morning. Teneriffe Falls, near North Bend, WA, USA #photography #landscapephotography #waterfall
I am fundamentally incapable of picking single favorites of anything but very much enjoy a younger Pat Stewart playing a massive piece of shit (with a full head of hair) in I Claudius
This was the part that always god me, idk seeds germinating feels like just plain old normal activity?
My very regionally specific answer. Ugly and unappetizing-looking and only ever seem to be available at non-chain hardware stores in the PNW but I have a deep soft spot for them (in part I think because the mfr once donated a bunch to a day camp I went to as a kid so we were eating them all summer?)
Fun fact, 100 Grand Bars came on the market in 1964 (under the name "$100,000 Bar"), so as of two years ago they could've changed their name to Million Dollars Bars if they wanted to keep up with inflation...
Brought my macro setup hiking this weekend to celebrate #invertefest and found a spectacular velvet mite (family Trombidiidae, poss genus Allothrombium though my mite ID resources are too sparse to say so confidently) #arachnid #photography #macrophotography #naturephotography #wildlifephotography
