Grateful for small mercies #Devon root bound
Thought I’d lent/lost the best one of the lot but it had slipped down the back. Strange Cargo - Hinterland. Track 2 - She Cries Your Name with the amazing Beth Orton is a standout tune in my life.
Sunday soundtrack. Thank you for the musical memories #WilliamOrbit ❤️
The baby podginns by the back door are quite perplexed by this strange liquid falling from the sky. 🐦🐦☔️
Just left the IMAX most disappointed having worn my socks specially. #DOHdyssey 😣
Settled at base camp Tom Cobley for Mid Devon’s fabulous ‘Bandamonium’. Hatherleigh’s Silver Band stole it for me with some excellent tunes from a Galaxy far far away. #UseTheBrassLuke
It’s not the beautiful cinematography, captivating casting/characters or tantalising storylines that thrusts a TV show like The Bear through my heart; It’s those blessed moments in life where I’ve worked with a team/family filled with love, respect & a common goal/shared vision, that I miss so much.
Packing my son’s Uni flat as he’s too busy getting blasted with his pals. (What would we do without our Dads eh?) But got to love his souvenir T from his recent band tour of Amsterdam 😍🎺💨
I am so aware of your Being, Perfect Rose, That my intents must seem a blur With this party my heart throws. I breathe you in as if you were just, Rose, all of life, And I, a perfect friend to trust A friend alike. - Maria Rilke #BloomingMondays 🌹
A day without a bridge is like a day without sunshine ☀️ 🌉 #Devon
‘Soren’s Rose’ in early bloom. Given to us to mark the birth of our youngest 17 years ago. The plant has, much like our son, faced up to harsh challenges in its young life. But never fails to bring light into our hearts with its sweet beauty. Nature makes us feel that with time we can heal. 💚
Me - Nothing calms the soul like switching off from the modern world & immersing oneself in nature. Also me -
The oldies are away on holiday, so I’m gathering up their junk mail. I assume it goes next to their window stickers?
My mother raised me better than to ask strangers such questions… …but, I don’t suppose you hire out your massive inflatable shit for children’s Birthday parties & dirty protests against corrupt multinational water companies do you? Okay, forget the Birthday parties. I just want to protest! 🪧 💩 ⛔️🚰
We always had a cook-up/drinks after bedding/pointing the last ridge tile, when all lead valleys etc completed. But worth celebrating at whatever milestone you want just as long as you celebrate. 🙌 🏠🍻 (My back hurts just wondering how I used to carry all those tiles up there?)
Had a very productive bank holiday, clearing out years of old self-employment detritus. 20 years ago x24 2nd class stamps set me back £5.76. Today, the same would cost £21.84. Outrageous. And don’t get me started on bloody Easter eggs. #MoaningOldGit
First ‘pootle’ on the water during our 1st false Spring last Friday. #Devon
I can hear the marching song now! 🎶Donald has only got one ball, JD has two but very small, Rubio’s are unduly low, But poor old Bondi has no balls at all 🎶 @georgemonbiot.bsky.social
Magnolia - harbinger of storms. We love our twisted & leggy bloomer, every year without fail its beautiful flowers herald a hoolie of biblical proportions so it lasts a day or two at best. Cursed beauty. 💨 🌸
Having relocated from rural Sussex to rural Westcountry 3 decades ago, I can confirm we all face the same spiralling costs for an array of sub-par public services. Bills rise at an exponential rate, yet we are forced to live with the same dilapidated infrastructure. 📷 Early Mar heating oil spike
Feeling the effects of a late night trip up the M5 to see my eldest’s latest collaboration. An awesome 6 piece Japanese-Jazz fusion band, belting out classics on MAR10 Day. Check them out if you love the Bristol music scene. 🎷 🎶🔊🍄 #JapanischerTee www.instagram.com/japanischer....
