Last night's noctilucent clouds in two more shots, taken at 23:33 and 23:45 CEST.

The image shows a dark curved horizon, with small orange vand above it, and a broader band of white and blue further up. In the upper part of the image numerous light blue threads are visible. These are noctilucent clouds, seen from aside and so visiually compressed into threads.

Leuk weetje: de hoge bewolking die nu te zien is, markeert een zogeheten glazen front. Een front is de scheiding tussen twee luchtsoorten. Er trekt nu zo'n front over. Omdat we onder een gebied met hoge luchtdruk zitten, is op wat hoge bewolking na alle activiteit uit dat front verdwenen.

A rare catch from my site at 52 degrees North: Chinese space station Tiangong passsing through Scorpio, just above star Antares at 23:32 CEST (UT+2) tonight.

Voor de liefhebbers: de hele hemel vol lichtende nachtwolken boven Strezhevoy, in het westen van Siberië. Het is daar 5 uur later dan bij ons, dus al volop ochtendschemering. Het doet denken aan hoe het er boven Nederland uitzag in de avond van 21 juni 2019.

The image shows the dark horizon of earth, with the blackness of space above it. Over the horizon a wide light blue band is visible, with a lot of white threads in it. These are noctilucent clouds, seen from aside and so compressed by perspective.

Voor de liefhebbers. Gisteren waren er mooie lichtende nachtwolken te zien vanuit Yurga in Siberië. Daar valt het vanavond wat tegen, maar wat westelijker, bij Berezniki ten noorden van Perm, zijn ze vanavond wel mooi. Hier is de webcam starvisor.net/bere/ noctilucent clouds

Nederland was een wolkenfabriek vandaag. Door een kleine storing die vrijwel stil lag ontstond boven ons land voortdurend bewolking die niet wilde oplossen. In Zeeland was het zonnig en zomers warm. Beeld NASA-satelliet Aqua halverwege de middag.

De hele ochtendhemel momenteel vol met lichtende nachtwolken boven de stad Jura in Siberië, ten noordoosten van Irkutsk. Het is in Jurga 5 uur later dan bij ons, dus al de vorge morgen van 8 juli. #noctilucentclouds
