Synths, Guitars, things that go beep, #Boro, Food, Books, #TheArchers, pop music. Rango’s sachet opener. He/Him. Plays nicely with others. Tack så mycket. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Fab day out by train in York for the afternoon matinee of the Reduced Shakespeare Companies “Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged)”. Brilliantly updated revival. Superb cast. Nice dirty “pre theatre” lunch in Fat Hippo as well. Sloppy vegan burgers and sides galore. And home in time for tea.
IGreek baby roasties with Lemon, Garlic, Oregano. Chucked on a plate with a salad dressed with Delia’s classic vinaigrette (Tarragon Vinegar) and warm smoked mackerel. There’s never been so much vintage 1970s Pyrex used since Margot Leadbetter had the Women’s Choral Society round for supper in 1976.
It’s alright innit? Doesn’t have the perfect Benny Riff from Gimme Gimme Gimme to hook us in from the first single but, you know, that’s ABBA.
The joy of having an animal in your house. Be it a cat, a dog, a guinea pig, a rabbit, whatever. It doesn’t matter. Their lives may be only a small part of your life but for them; you are their WHOLE life. The entirety. I miss Tommy so much and hope he enjoyed his time with us. He was so loved x
I found myself down the rabbit hole of the Saatchi website. Can’t remember which account here alerted me to the artwork of Gabriele Münter, but I found this work by German artist, Arne Groh, “The House of Gabriele Münter”. It arrives Thursday. I love it. If anyone knows him, do tell him.
Happy Birthday America. I’m blessed that my bezzie mate is a lad from Ohio that lives in Berlin. Love him, love his family, love all the time I’ve spent in America, real America. America is a land FULL of kind, generous, inclusive, lovely folks. America is not Trump. Never forget that.
Received an email from Rango’s vet reminding us that this month, it’s his 15th birthday. Like I’d forget. I’ve now turned in to a pushy stageschool Mam that enters their pets in beauty pageants. I hate myself, but love the fact that Rango is OBVIOUSLY, sure to win. Next Step? Insta Influencer.
Happy Friday y’all or, “Brand new Silo and Star City day”! Delighted that the magnificent Rebecca Ferguson returns in Silo season 3 and yet more Star City to enjoy.
For me, it was sitting on the sofa with my Mam in May 1974, I was 4 years old, I saw them do Waterloo. It changed my life. I remember being a bairn and watching it happen. I got “Greatest Hits”, “Arrival” etc as the years went by. Our front room looks like this. They live in my heart.
The boy Martínez is living his best life this week as it’s Spanish week at Lidl….. he bought some Cod Loins, which I’ve just thrown in to a pot and roasted with some red onion, olives, garlic, oregano, tomato, plopped on top of a bag of Salad leaves from Marks’. Have to say, it’s rather lovely….
Very much looking forward to spending some time with Empire of the Sun in Halifax tomorrow evening. These days, I don’t think our pop stars rummage around in the dressing up box enough. It’s far too easy to be terribly earnest and ‘stage school’. The sort of shit Cowell loves dining out on. #EOTS
Things you don’t read about in British tabloid newspapers that belong to tax evasive millionaires. #Rothermere #DailyMail #Murdoch #TheScum
If Rango really tried, I’m sure he could get a tad closer to the ceiling fan. He’ll be on the pile of laundry soon.
@dailymail.co.uk Are you actually going to at least TRY to take science seriously? Your Comments section is a disgrace - full of the deeply uneducated science denying boomers one would expect. Considering how obsessed they are with “The Summer of 76”; you could do some actual education?
Dearest @nigella.bsky.social, tomorrow we are having a ”half way to Christmas”, “Jingle and Mingle” event - huge NHS changes again, chance to take time to meet new colleagues. A pot luck lunch. My interpretation of White Miso Hummus is happening by request, and in barrel like quantities. Thank you X
I find it utterly ridiculous that for Christmas 1981, I received Duran Duran’s debut album, “Dare” by the Human League, and “Architecture and Morality” by OMD. I was 11 years old and those records kind of defined the soundtrack of my life. Kraftwerk arrived earlier.
The latest editions of the London Review of Books, Private Eye, Electronic Sound and issue #167 of the magazine of the Official International ABBA Fanclub. This is the area I operate in. Doing post holiday post opening, pretending credit card bills don’t exist, and washing. 🙂 All my fave mags!!
Nice. Don’t own an egg cooker however a massive pot with a steaming basket eternally lives on the hob here. No point putting it away. Ditto with the double boiler - which makes porridge just ‘happen’ without need for intervention.
Right about now, this Sunday morning, I really wish I was applying this Cheese Saganaki to my face. From Sterna Chrisi Akti. If you’re in Crete, go and visit these people and give them your money. www.qarto.app/menu/sterna BRILLIANT food and lovely staff.
Good morning from Rango - who appears utterly delighted that we’re back from holiday (he’s been VERY noisy since Friday evening) however, he keeps staring at the front door as though he’s waiting for his Uncle Ste to turn up and do his morning feed…. And administer a chew stick. #OrangeCats
I love that it’s a tiny reference, but “Yarm?!” in Smoggie Queens is like Corrie’s “London?!” Trope. Back in the Grindr days, folks used to say they lived in “South Yarm” - they meant Ingleby Barwick haha they’re a cut above, in Yarm……
Saw the musical last month. It was one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.
