Newfoundlander. Canadian. Geek. Fly fisher/tyer. I work in a large academic library. Voiceover pro. Backgrounds in public relations, insurance, and history. My opinions are mine - you can't have them.
Taking my life in my hands for lunch. If only we had a readily available Canadian-made packaged product.
Tiny bunny got itself into the window well and couldn't get out. I was able to get close enough to get one foot down into the window well before it made 2-3 more attempts and finally pulled itself out and ran off into the bushes behind the house.
There's never a _good_ time for the air conditioning system to fail/break, but it always seems to be the _worst_ time. #nlwx
A visitor in the back yard. There was another one that darted into the bushes before I could get a picture. Wild to see them out in broad daylight in the middle of the day like this. Must be a lot of them around this year.
Multiple vehicle collision on southbound side of Commonwealth Avenue in front of Taco Bell. #nltraffic
And a hundred years later was an inspiration that kicked off Newfoundland's craft beer renaissance.
Best results I ever got was with a reel mower. Quiet, effective, light, convenient. Blades are wickedly sharp when properly maintained. Only catch is that they tend not to do well with taller grass, so it's best to mow a bit more frequently than one usually would. Highly recommended.
Still nothing. River is well up after Wednesday's rain, though. If there's salmon here they aren't interested in anything I've offered them, unfortunately. #AtlanticSalmon #flyfishing
Lots of deep, cool, running water in Mint Brook. Raining, but not hard. No one else fishing. If there's salmon around, they weren't interested in anything I was throwing at them. #AtlanticSalmon #flyfishing
Mint Brook this morning. Hooked something just 4-5 inches that threw the fly after a moment. Saw a fish make a half-hearted jump at the foot of the pool. And got eaten alive by mosquitoes. #Atlanticsalmon
I definitely remember. Facebook served me up the pictures as 'memories' today.
It's probably safe for me to take the snow scraper in out of my vehicle now, right?
Regular reminder that Canada makes some world-class spirits (and other alcoholic beverages) all on our own. Including vodka and beer made with ICEBERG WATER!
It's that link _every time_. I swear it must be made of cheap aluminum foil and wet paper towels. #DarkNL #nlwx #nltraffic #YYT
