This one was especially challenging because the only suitable head sculpt I found (didn’t have the time or inclination to sculpt/print one from scratch) was a Butcher w/ beard. So I literally have him a shave with sandpaper and a file and resculpted his lower jaw and upper lip via subtraction
We were talking old video games and Battletoads in the group chat last night and I was reminded of this commission from a couple of years ago. Thought I'd re-share it-- one of the most fun requests I've had.
Fun little physical media haul at a local charity shop I happened by on the way home from an appointment. The dvd case is empty, but I used to work at a Hollywood Video so I had to grab it for posterity, lol.
Two of the stars of today’s game had the names IBRAHIM and MOSTAFA (an alternate spelling). I can’t stress enough how rare it is for me to see my name in any kind of setting, let alone a world stage like that, in a positive way. It just doesn’t happen, & it’s why I never use a pen name on my work.
Was just looking at old pics of my boy and he looks like a different dog 😭 He went grey early, lol. He’s about 9 1/2 but the white progression has been steady since 5 But it’s wild how much more he used to look like his breed with his old coloring. He’s 100% AmStaff, everyone thinks he’s a mix now
As a self-employed workaholic with a lot of ambitions, sleep is often something I just succumb to at the end of the day. For my son it is a planned activity, lol. Being able to facilitate a safe, relaxed space for him to do that in is honestly the honor of my life.
A few years ago a review of 1 of my books said they could “see the reference I used for the face in one particular panel” & that it kinda pulled them out of it for a second. This isn’t the panel, but it’s how I drew it. Loose blue line layouts > pencils > inks. I’m simply practiced at my job, lol

The face here is hand-sculpted over an existing generic white guy head (pic on right) that is roughly the size of a grape. I added hair fibers to it as well. It was very hard!
I make the bed every morning, but he only does this when mom’s not home and I’m unavailable to him for a bit, lol. He pulls the covers back to have premium pillow access with his dirty little body 😂
