The biggest surprise during our time covering every Spider-Man cartoon ever made is how special 2017's second season is. With Spectacular setting the standard for S-tier seasons of Spider-Man television, I feel totally comfortable saying that this is hanging out with TAS' third season in Tier A.

There've been a bunch of surprises! Rodan genuinely surprised me, because I thought I was generally familiar with the monster Rodan. Hedorah was one big surprise. Megalon not being a guy was a genuine surprise, not a bit. Lots of early Heisei surprises, particularly in the Hollywood refs/influence.

Definitely slowed down from last year a bit and wildly so from 2024. I’ve only seen about 30 movies in the theater so far this year, which isn’t a small number, but in 2024 I hit over 130 😅 But I’m still using my pass regularly and enjoying myself when I get out there.

My high school art teacher basically contracted me out once without asking me, which was fucked up, but other than that, I’ve never sold art. I think about it a lot though. I feel very silly for not making an effort to, because being able to buy groceries is nice, and a bit of extra cash would help!

Oh, I really love this question. Certainly lots of pieces, artists, and movements inspire me, but there are some specific pieces I always come back to. They’re all part of an artistic center in that they’re personally formative, and I never get tired of looking at them.

The promo images for Alaska’s “Revolution” are making me hopeful that the aesthetic for her eventual next album is all blue and that Red 4 Filth, this album, and a sixth album are like, a color trilogy. Alaska makes things that appeal to my brain so specifically, and I hope this is yet another one.

This is from about a year ago at this point. I worked on it quite a lot over the course of almost a month. Mostly a style study that I got very into. Other projects ended up more pressing, and I never finished it. Not sure if I’ll go back at this point, but I’ve revisited much older, sooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
