Trips to work in New Orleans are basically always more than a mile. I’m all for increasing bike infrastructure, but a lot of urbanists need to spend some serious time looking at maps of cities outside the coastal corridors to understand why biking doesn’t work for a lot of people.

Necromancy peaked with this artwork. Though the description of Merriman in Susan Cooper's THE DARK IS RISING left one hell of an impression on me (not sure it was "cool"), as did Mat Cauthon from Robert Jordan's WHEEL OF TIME (definitely was "cool").

I miss my dad. (He's still improving! Just... gonna be in the rehab hospital for several months. No Christmas at the house. No real Christmas at all, honestly.) Anyway, spend some extra time with your loved ones.
