time for another DSSA happy hour! this one will be on July 17th from 4-6 pm at the marketplace entrance seating area. Sip and Savor ends by 5 so if you want a drink get one before then! other neighborhoods welcome. no agenda, just hang out with other folks who like urbanism and safe streets
@seattledot.bsky.social been like this since July 8. hopefully it won't take a month to put back this time.
I’m seeing more handkerchiefs than sashes but when you said white with red sashes this is what I was thinking of
the Pit from Hell is being reclaimed by nature. maybe we just make it into a park?
the current state of police enforcement in Seattle: I call to report this. I have to wait a whole minute for the phone tree to shut up before I can push the button to talk to a human. they say they will send someone. an hour later, the truck is still there, no ticket
the moment when you have to explain what a mixed use path is to the non-emergency operator so you can report that a truck is parked right in the middle of it
Seattle’s “finest.” plenty of space to park during an emergency, and where do they park? the middle of the bike lane
oh and I checked, the market is indeed still in good repair. no oil needed
this Friday at 4 pm! you’re welcome to join even if you live in another neighborhood. chances are you spend time downtown and this is a happy hour, not a planning meeting. we’ll meet here! if they kick us out after 30 minutes then we can migrate to the Overlook Walk
Downtown Seattle Streets for All (DSSA) is having a happy hour at Pike Place next week! join us on Friday, June 19, at 4 pm. we'll catch the tail end of Sip and Savor. no agenda, just getting to know other DSSA folks!
solar isn't great in Seattle anyway, and that's not just common sense, it's literally science:
over 1/4 mile. and after only 100 feet of tracks flush with the ground it started looking like this. the driver only stopped because her car was "beached" by the tracks being raised even farther away from the ground near the station
tabling for @streetsalliance.bsky.social to round off Bike Everywhere Month! if you’re around come say hi at Bell Street Park
I installed a shiny new freewheel today with the help of the Bikery!
good news everyone, after months of outages, service has been fully restored and the market is in working condition again
and here's a video of me explaining the problem to some cops! they seemed to be ok with me riding my bike in the designated bike path and filming cars making illegal maneuvers "I see one like every 5-10 minutes" "I believe it" THEN WRITE THEM TICKETS!!! I'm out here doing this for free guys
have a bonus video of 2nd, since I was there after chasing the last car
same driver illegally crossing 3rd Ave. some people are really stubborn. on the other hand, you can see how easy it is to just ignore me (instead of, you know, calling 911).
always funny when drivers are mad at me when they are doing illegal things and I'm just using the bike path. it must be so frustrating to be told off just once after getting away with it hundreds of times! and I'm not even giving them a ticket! I'm literally just...in the way...
