As a mass spec lab manager at @hhmi-science.bsky.social Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Dr Juan Liu's focus is on pushing proteome coverage deeper. After switching to the Aurora® Ultimate™ 25x150 XT for both general proteomics and phosphoproteomics workflows, the results speak for themselves:
De novo antibody sequencing typically demands 4–6 parallel protease digestions to adequately cover hypervariable CDR regions. Pañeda et al. challenge that paradigm entirely. LC-MS/MS used an Aurora® Elite™ 15×75 XS column, an UltiMate 3000, and a SCIEX ZenoTOF 7600. Learn more: bit.ly/4eshTEd
Janssens et al. benchmark the timsUltra AIP for SCP: using an Aurora® Elite™ 15×75 CSI column + nanoElute 2, the team achieved a >2× increase in protein IDs at the single-cell level, with ~50% of the detected proteome identified exclusively on the new instrument. Learn more: bit.ly/4gF6Tog
The 9th Annual Single-Cell Proteomics Conference kicks off at @northeasternu.bsky.social in Boston next week and we’re proud to be supporting as a Gold Sponsor. Jarrod, Zac, and Haley are all behind the booth. Stop by to see how we can support your workflows - or to say hi! We’d love to connect.
Few spots left for Peaks & Pints, Hinxton edition. If you'll be at BSPR, stick around on Monday, July 13 for an evening of conversation and connection at The Red Lion Inn, just a 6-minute walk from Hinxton Hall Conference Centre. Secure your complimentary, catered spot: bit.ly/4opQJRz
When your research involves thousands of glycoproteoforms, you need columns you can count on. To Dr. Tim Veth, postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington, one Aurora column lasting several months of high performance was all the evidence he needed. Learn more: bit.ly/4nrMzad
Day 1 of the SEMM Workshop "The Proteomics Revolution: Advancing Science and Society" is wrapped up, and it's been a brilliant start to what promises to be a memorable few days in Milan. If you're here, come find us - Britta and Darren would love to connect.
Zhemkov et al. applied an exploratory, global protein identification approach across a 60-day iPSC-to-motor neuron differentiation protocol, using Aurora® Rapid™ 5x75 CSI columns on a timsTOF Ultra 2 to achieve ~20% greater sensitivity and ~175% more low-abundance protein detections. bit.ly/4aJKPFi
We're thrilled to welcome Dr Yana Demyanenko to the IonOpticks team as an Application Scientist, based in the UK. She'll help researchers get the most out of their LC-MS proteomics workflows. Outside the lab, Yana is an avid DIYer, making things from cakes to dresses to garden landscapes.
Foiani et al. from the @ukdri.ac.uk shed light on Alzheimer's disease brain tissue using single-neuron proteomics, pairing an Aurora® Elite™ 15×75 CSI column with an Evosep One and timsTOF Ultra 2. Learn more: bit.ly/4xvASoJ
A recent @sciex.bsky.social technical note benchmarks the ZenoTOF 8600 system for short-gradient, high-throughput label-free quantitative (LFQ) proteomics. Chromatography performed on an ACQUITY UPLC M-Class paired with an Aurora® Ultimate™ 25x75 XS column for nanoflow analyses. bit.ly/4vZajqn
Dr @mari-mardamshin.bsky.social, postdoctoral fellow in Assoc Prof Emma Lundberg's lab at Stanford, works at the frontier of spatial proteomics, where column robustness is crucial - especially with low-input samples. Aurora Series® columns help make that work possible. Learn more: bit.ly/3IELayn
A new @sciex.bsky.social technical note demonstrates significant improvements in label-free quantitation (LFQ) proteomics using ZT Scan DIA 3.0 on the ZenoTOF 8600 system, which was paired with an ACQUITY UPLC M-Class System and an Aurora® Ultimate™ 25x75 XS column. Learn more: bit.ly/4oAy45V
On the final afternoon of the 74th MSSJ Annual Conference on Mass Spectrometry in Yokohama, our Sweets Seminar wrapped up with 80 attendees - a wonderful turnout, and a great energy to end the conference on. Even if it was testing the limits of Fabrice’s conversational Japanese!
Davison et al. coupled nanocapillary sampling with LC-MS for the first time to profile stress granule proteins from individual live cells, bypassing the limitations of bulk purification. Used Vanquish Neo, Aurora® Rapid™ 8×75 XT column, & Orbitrap Astral. Learn more: bit.ly/3PYy6HQ
We’re proud to support the @ukbspr.bsky.social BSPR Annual Scientific Meeting in Hinxton next month. Attending? We'd love to see you at Peaks + Pints on Monday, July 13 at The Red Lion Inn from 07:30pm, a short walk from the conference venue: bit.ly/4ose7xT
Last week, our UK team had the pleasure of hosting Fintiede Solutions Solutions, IonOpticks' local distribution partner, in person at our new facility. Of course, no meeting is complete without a proper spread, including the cultural exchange that is sharing a jar of Vegemite. Or is it Marmite?
Luke Gamon, Asst Prof at @ucph.bsky.social, built a spatial proteomics workflow from standard lab equipment: PCR tubes, centrifuges, basic plastics. When a single Aurora column can handle 2,500 injections and still perform, that kind of longevity changes what's feasible. Learn more: bit.ly/4ulX2XL
NoPro-clipping: a new @komanderlab.bsky.social nanoflow LC-MS/MS workflow from @marcojochem.bsky.social et al. using an Aurora® Elite™ 15×75 column + Orbitrap Eclipse, Vanquish Neo detects ubiquitination of glycogen, glycerol & spermine in cells & tissues via targeted PRM. Learn more: bit.ly/3PYs222
