Therefore, Lupita Nyong'o as Helen is probably one of the more inspired choices. She's objectively drop-dead gorgeous. She has theater experience, and that's EXACTLY what you want for the dual role of Helen and Clytemnestra. You don't want someone who just "looks pretty".
She understood the story completely, and retold it using her words, her music, by highlighting elements that were particularly poignant to her. And the casting reflected the style she was going for. That's why you got Reeve Carney, Eva Noblezada, André DeShields, Amber Gray, Patrick Page.
