I "discovered" grape hyacinth at Allan Gardens in Toronto in March and they became my new favourite flower. Then in April, saw them on people's lawns in Vancouver. Today, on a stroll through the Public Gardens I was sooo happy to see them in Halifax! #BloomScrolling

A low to the ground shot has some blurry pink hyacinth on the left of the frame, and red pointy tulips on the upper part of the frame slightly right of centre. Running from the mid-right of the frame to barely left of centre, are several grape hyacinths that are bulbous but not yet opened up in full bloom.

KooKoos! Allan Candy made them. Definitely one of my favourite things from the corner store when I was a kid. This isn't the original packaging but the candy looks the same.

A wrapper for KooKoo taffy bar above a neopolitan thin strip of taffy. Strawberry flavour at the bottom, then vanilla with the chocolate flavour on top. Both items are atop blue quilted fabric which seems really gross because taffy is tacky. I bet there was lint or hair on the candy. Did someone eat it?? I would have. Miss you KooKoos.

How jalapeño cheeto nuggets became cheeto chicken tacos 🤤

A baking sheet lined with parchment paper has a bunch of cheeto-breaded chicken nuggets on it. ...as well as some darkened cheeto dust in between the nuggets.

A small, soft corn tortilla on a wood cutting board with salsa, avocado, pickled white onion and cut chicken nuggets on it, ready to be folded and eaten!

I picked these up without much more than a gluten free check when a friend took me food shopping in Vancouver last week. I thought they would be like a Sunchip but they are TOTALLY DIFFERENT AND DELICIOUS 🤤 🤤 There are no stores east of Ottawa and we need to change that!

A short story about taking moon pics from a moving train...

The train is moving towards the moon so it looks a bit bigger.

Closer to the moon here! The sky appears darker and the moon brighter due to the zoom. A rocky mountain (heh) with trees sits below the centred glow

The highest peak of the mountain is at the bottom fifth of the frame. The sky looks darker than the last pic and muuuuuuch darker than the first. The waning moon hogs the frame in the best way.

A west coast-ish hello from Boston Bar, BC. I'm almost sad to be leaving the train when we get to Vancouver. I'd also HIGHLY recommend taking The Canadian if you have the time and means!

Winnipeg streets are wide and wavy, not so great for pedestrians. I didn't see any cyclists, just bikes in a couple forms 😅 Also, it looks like the city uses sand/gravel combo more than salt. (Ahem, HRM, we should consider adding more sand and gravel to the mix.)
