Just watched THE LONG WALK. From what I remember about the novel (last read in the 90s), this adaptation really captured that Shirley Jackson meets Vietnam War movie vibe the story gave me when I first read it in THE BACHMAN BOOKS.

First draft on a Freewrite. Rewrites in Libre Office. Used LO's built-in (non-AI) spell and grammar checker to clean up remaining mistakes. Took all of 30 minutes for the 97,000-word manuscript. Screenshot of a suggestion I DID NOT accept. 😊 One more read-thru and it'll be ready for next steps. 🤞

I have four hours until an event I have to attend. I'd like to work on this last round of edits and rewrites on my WIP, but my head isn't in the space because it keeps screaming at me that I have somewhere I have to be in FOUR HOURS. Brains. Go fig.

Seven months after the 1st draft began, I'm in final revisions on my WIP. I'll tie up loose ends, then use macOS speak tools to have the MS read aloud so I can catch remaining errors. Happy with the story. Also nervous. Can't say why. 😊 Anyway, here's a picture of my cat comforting me. #authorsky
