Hey there. I went to another hatchling nest this morning and asked about what happened to the little ones that didn't survive. They said that it sounds sad but they place them back into the nest where usually ghost crabs or coyotes will find them. Happier note: here's a little one released today! 😊

Ok y'all. We just got back from a Loggerhead turtle nest check and there were seven hatchlings that needed help emerging from the nest (the team gives them three days to emerge on their own). Check out this baby headed to the big ol' sea. 💗 #seaturtle #nature #turtle 🐢🦑

The turtle watch team found these little hatchlings disoriented on the beach yesterday morning. They were going to care for the turtles until high tide and then release them into the ocean. How cute are these sweet things? #nature 💚🐢

Happy #SkySunday! This is a lightning strike that happened right outside of our window last weekend. #Stunday

Check out this Diamondback terrapin snacking on snails and crabs in the marsh yesterday. It's about 12 feet/4.5 meters away so the video is a bit fuzzy. Look at its cute long neck and lovely shell pattern. Diamondbacks have webbed feet and live in brackish waters like salt marshes. 🐢 #turtles

Happy #SkySunday! This is the Falcon 9 launch on Thursday last week just before sunrise.

I took a little peek around the curtain yesterday afternoon and caught dad flying in with food for the babies. 💙🪺🦉

The House finch couple that built their nest in March returned! I read that sometimes they come back several times per season. So I reinforced it with more duct tape and then this morning - babies! I won't get anymore pics so as not to disturb them but hoping to see little ones fly away soon. #Birds

A mother finch is shades of tan and beige and sitting in the nest. The father is brown and beige with a red head. They are sitting in a nest they built using Spanish moss. The floor of the nest is plastic squares duct taped to the side of the post since the original nest they built kept falling off of the ledge. This is their second time laying eggs here.

We had a bit of a medical scare with Sir Purr about 10 days ago and we thought we were about to lose him.
