I found my National Dish™️ pin! It fell out of my hand over a week ago and I couldn’t find it anywhere, it’s ridiculous how it utterly vanished. Worse, the Jodrell Bank gift shop is offline and I couldn’t replace it. Today I got right down on my knees under the bed and there it was. Thank goodness. 📡

I don’t know which side won this particular battle of the neurodivergences, but I will personally claim the victory 🪴

A latex glove in a sealable plastic pouch. The pouch is labelled “lily glub” because I’m not very grown up. The glub is stained with lily pollen. Its purpose is for removing the polleny bits from lilies. I like lilies. There is a beautiful open lily to the left of the pouch. It needs to have its polleny bits removed. Fortunately I keep this glub in a very sensible place and I always know exactly where to find it, which is a goddamned miracle for me.

I got this keyring at the Joddy-B gift shop in 2015 and it is still on my car keys. The keyring says I AM BIG AND I AM CLEVER, in white letters on a sky blue background, with the handle @jodrellbank. There is also a small plushie cow on my car keys. It used to moo if you squeezed it but it doesn’t anymore. There are cows in the fields adjacent to Lovell’s radio telescope, and I always wonder at their perfect indifference to the technological marvel beside them. They look down; that’s more important to them. We look up, because they won’t all slip past us like the Vogons did.

It gets better. We had a birthday this week, and so another wonderful family summer evening together. We got tipsy enough to almost buy a convertible and a puppy (my children can talk me into ANYTHING that makes them happy) - and, now we’re in possession of our senses, we’re still considering both ☺️

It’s 0344h in the morning and my family is just retiring to bed after a long evening of music, drinking, chatting, fire, and laughing. We closed with a group hug and a declaration of our love for each other. Who could ask for better? I am overwhelmed with the pride I feel for my darling children.
