Maryland is home to some of our nation's largest federal agencies and thousands of hardworking public servants. They, and every American worker, deserve a wage that keeps up with the cost of living. Seventeen years is long enough. It's time to raise the federal minimum wage.

No one is above the law. If an ICE agent murders someone, they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law just like anyone else. No badge should shield anyone from accountability.

The fight to save BARC continues.   PG County has joined the coalition fighting to protect this world class research institution. BARC supports jobs, food security, and groundbreaking research that can’t simply be moved elsewhere. We’ll keep fighting to keep BARC in Beltsville.

The people who keep Capitol Hill running deserve fair wages, good benefits, and a secure retirement. My colleagues and I were proud to stand with UNITE HERE Local 23 as they continue fighting for a fair contract for the workers who serve meals, maintain our buildings, and support Congress every day.

DOGE promised efficiency. Instead, they laid off thousands of dedicated public servants only to turn around and rehire many of them. That’s not rightsizing the federal workforce. That’s a “dynamic” waste of taxpayer dollars. @democrats-appropriations.house.gov

Gun Violence Awareness Month reminds us that ending gun violence starts with bringing the right people to the table. I was proud to convene local leaders and community partners to discuss how we can better prevent violence, support victims, and strengthen our communities.

This Men’s Health Awareness Month, I encourage every man to make his health a priority. As a kidney cancer survivor, I know firsthand that an early screening can save your life. It caught my cancer before it was too late. Taking care of your health today could save your life tomorrow.

I enjoyed touring CAVA's manufacturing facility in Laurel and seeing the incredible work happening behind the scenes. As they continue expanding their footprint in Laurel, I'm excited to see the opportunities this investment will create for workers, families, and our local economy.

We can protect the Second Amendment right, and also protect second graders. No child should have to debate the best way to survive an active shooter at school. We don’t have to choose between constitutional rights and protecting our children. We can do both.

Four years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending nearly 50 years of federal protections for reproductive freedom. The consequences have been devastating. We cannot stop fighting for reproductive freedom and the right of every person to make their own health care decisions.
