#RedBeakFeetEyes #BirdOfTheDay An eared grebe. The western, Clark's, eared, and horned grebe all have such bright red eyes with tiny pupils, and always look like they're suspiciously up to something.

This must be Seattle’s version of LA’s bacon-wrapped hot dog which is also delicious and there are always 100 carts outside of any event building

Set up for the bacon-wrapped hot dog carts that are outside concerts, sporting events, etc. A large baking sheet is on a red metal cart. At one end of the cart, sit 4 condiment bottles. On the baking tray, a row of about 30 cooked stacked bacon-wrapped hotdogs are laid out. Also on the tray are charred green chiles, raw onions and bell peppers, cilantro, and a pile of onions and bell peppers being charred and softened.

#BirdOfTheDay #TheArtOfSurvival (i.e. birds finding food, avoiding predators, enduring weather, or raising young) An Allen's female (probably) on her teeny nest with her teeny eggs. The eggs hatched and the babies fledged all while I was away on vacation!

#LittleBrownBirds #BirdOfTheDay I think I used to call these LBJs (little brown jobs) back in the day, but LBB works too (LBJ/LBB = a small brown songbird that didn't sit still long enough for you to ID it) This particular LBB is a song sparrow.

A day with a new Yotsuba&! volume is a great day (the prior volume came out in 2021. Yotsuba fans have been waiting a looooooong time).

FYI it caught a round stingray

A brown stingray. Its body is a flat circle and it has a thick tail extending from the back instead of the usual whiplike tails most stingrays have. Two dark spots towards the front of the fish are its eyes
