Suddenly remembered a bizarre comment I got years ago while working at ANN. The other person working there at the time who also went to Oberlin got a similar comment. Never forget that people online are just plain strange sometimes and aren't worth a second thought.

This just came up in my memories, so shout-out to the time I climbed Mt. Fuji in an FMA hoodie. (And got lost and was only semi-conscious at the top for a while.) I still have the stick. 🗻
And, if I'm talking about this series, I have to mention that it's a color manga in a unique style! It's uncommon for color manga to get released in English because of the increased costs, but it was so worth it for this unique and incredibly fun book. This is such a unique release. Enjoy!
The most amazing detail of all might be the sprayed edges designed in-house. How much cuter can you get? This is also a very rare feature in manga, so I'm so glad we could include it.
This is rare for manga, but we were able to include French flaps! Open the flaps, and you get to see purrific printing on the backs of the covers, too.
This book is approved by multiple cats at Square Enix Manga & Books. If that seal of approval isn't enough, we've got an amazing cover design incorporating original elements with elements from both volumes of the series. There's spot UV to highlight some adorable details.

It was great to see the Tekkonkinkreet screening for the film's 20th anniversary. If I'm honest, I'd forgotten a lot of the details of the film, but the 4K remaster really drove home the pure artistry. It's a marvel in its own right. My chinchillas are named after the leads, and Kuro is also 20.
In case you missed it, Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick has continuous spine art! I can't wait till I have it all as a display piece on my shelf. We took the continuous art from the original 21-volume edition of the series never published in English. It's a great manga, and the design alone is 💯.
I was having sort of a rough day the other day, and I got an unexpected little package. It was just what I needed, but here's the thing. Without talking about it, we both somehow sent each other a package that arrived on the same day!?! Life is weird. Keep doing little nice things for your friends.

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to see and hear one legend and see the work of another. During this Japan-themed weekend, I also saw a coworker from my Japan-related imprint and had meetings related to the JET Program/JETAA.
Because I just got my comps in and the word is already out there, I thought I'd take this opportunity to confirm I'm editing Dragon Quest: The Mark of Erdrick. It's a great manga, and I'm excited it's finally getting an English release after all these years!

It's #DragonQuestDay, so here's a DQ story. I first played Dragon Warrior on NES when I was too little to understand it, but I remember battling slimes! Skip ahead a few years and many games, and I edited Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. Now I'm an editor for Square Enix Manga & Books. Who knew?
It drives me batty when I hear people in the gaming industry or JP pop culture media report on things and use the wrong term for who they're talking about.
