The fatigue is strong. The spite is stronger. Two more hours. Go, go, go!
I hadn’t realized #NationalMothWeek was a thing till now, but these are some moths the kids and I saw May-June.
All the raccoon discussion reminded me of this exchange with my spouse.
Where we used to live, Harold and Victoria (no particular reason for the names) would occasionally visit in the spring and *knock* on the screen door to see if we’d feed them. (This was amusing up until having to clean up after them.)
Finally figured out how to use something other than Google without needing to download some other app. Hadn’t realized it would be that simple.
I just searched to see if this was already a part of the series, and it got amusing from there.
This is what’s (actually, surprisingly!) grown so far this spring. We’ll see if the zinnia seeds I harvest last fall make it after being planted possibly too soon this spring before it got cold again.
Pleased (more like genuinely surprised) to report that every bulb I planted last fall is growing. The bunnies found several, but that’s another matter.
I’m trying something different. If you’re an independent Minnesota business interested in collaborating for fundraising purposes, let me know! fleurdelia.com/pages/minnes...
Finally bought “100 Cookies” after long being intrigued when I’d see the cover. (I don’t think I knew about her blog even though she’s local.) Only one recipe in, & I’m hooked. Made the Brownie Cookies. They’re PERFECT, & the book is so gorgeous! I’ll legit be sad if the book gets food on the pages.
We accidentally came up with our family’s Elf on the Shelf alternative, and it’s a Where’s Waldo ornament I forgot I had. We hid it in a different spot each day of winter break.
that Counting Crows song gets stuck in my head when I look at these December sun pics
Was excited that this started working again. At a previous job, they had warehouse sales open first to employees where you could buy home decor, etc. for pennies. Some were factory samples or errors (“oh oh oh” instead of “Ho Ho Ho”), etc. I bought this one year.
This was our first year with a wreath on the door, first with greens above a couple windows, and second year with a full-sized Christmas tree. Celebrations didn’t go as planned, but the decor aspect still feels like a small win.
Can’t help but assume @justamyzing.bsky.social is some kind of sorceress that these got here before Christmas. They’re PERFECT and match some existing decorations, too! Love them so much!
Not all of this day, but a LOT of this day could be illustrated by the Ben Affleck smoking meme. However, remembering there was half a batch of cookie dough at the back of the freezer salvaged this part of it.
If you can have dandelion (an herb?) + grains, I went through a Dandy Blend kick a few years ago. I liked it back then, but I can’t remember if I added honey or something to it. Might have preferred it to faux-coffee blends made from mushrooms, but it’s been a while. dandyblend.com/product/dand...
Commercial grade toilet paper looks about that color and is certainly cheaper than a swatch deck, which are suggested to be replaced every 18 months (most do not). It’s passed along as industry common knowledge that many factories have very old decks that might not include later color additions.
A thing that people who don’t work with Pantone swatches might miss about why the Color of the Year announcement is a peculiar brand decision is that it functionally leaves out a large group of their active user base. 🧵

Some of the blur was the wind moving the trees, but some was just me shivering
Granted my phone is newer now to pick up more in pictures than previous times, but I’ve never seen the aurora this red before. At points, it seemed blood red.
Pentil Orenz mechanical pencil in mint green, .5mm and .3mm Really light to hold Staedler 925-75 drafting pencil in white, .5mm Has a graphite grade indicator you can set. I wouldn’t say it’s impervious to switching unintentionally, but it’s neat.
Probably the next headline after this one: “Did Women Ruin the Workforce?” (Would seem they’ve since updated it to “Did Liberal Feminism Ruin the Workplace?” but nonetheless.)
We managed to get some Halloween stuff together, albeit last minute-ish. I’m grateful to have not done anything beyond hemming for kids’ costumes this year.
