I believe we can create a future where humans live in harmony with nature & each other. I refuse to comply with age verification so don't message me, I can't read the chat screen.
We've stopped in Hong Kong on the way home from Toronto. Lordy, lordy, it is hot and humid 🥵
After 3 days of patience (and a few peanuts), I finally got to see a chipmunk 🐿️😍
I have to give Past Robyn a hell of a lot of credit. This holiday has been brilliant. The mix of activities has been perfectly balanced between socialising, tourism & rest. Well done, Past Me. TBH the most points are for picking my partner of 30 years, without whom none of this would be possible
Epstein - rapist, trafficker, mercenary - thought he could improve the human race with his sperm. I need you to understand that Elon & the others have the same narcissistic, misogynistic, bullshit beliefs. They have the $$ to pursue these goals. They are a threat to our species. We must stop them.
Hell yeah they are leftys! Sorry to miss this event discussing how we get a wealth tax in Australia
I was delighted to stumble across the Toronto Pride Naked Bike Rude today 🥰🌈
My little fruit trees think it is Spring I'm in Australia, it's nearly Winter
Lovely butterfly blesses the protest against Qld's stupid fascist banned phrases law #notourlaws
My sister-in-law is a huge fan of lawyer Nick Hanna and today he defended her in court over the stupid Qld banned phrases law. Here she is behind him at an interview after the appearance.
#amreading this one is actually current rn. I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us And A Grander View Of Life by Ed Yong. An absolutely mind-blowing explanation of the microbiome, starting with a history of how we discovered it.
#amreading We'll Prescribe You A Cat by Syou Shida is everything a cat loving reader could hope for, with some light magic realism and gentle characters with surmountable problems.
Belated #amreading posts This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub is a very sweet time travel novel set in NYC. Nice people who like each other, how refreshing!
The NDIS is only expensive if you don't value human life. Paying people to care for other people helps us all.
#AmReading Rebecca Solnit's new book, The Beginning Comes After The End Incredible. So many ideas. Yes, civilisation is collapsing but the shoots of renewal are already there.
#AmReading The Energy Paradox by Steven R Gundry MD Yes I do have several books on the go at once. Unexpectedly interesting & relevant, as I grapple with an auto-immune condition that caused serious illness. Once again I marvel at the miracle that is the human organism 🤩🤩🤩
#AmReading Fulvia by Jane Draycott. Haven't really got into the text yet, it starts with maps and charts and an explanation of Ran making conventions It's the book I gave my partner for Xmas. He hasn't read it but so far it has proved a bloody good choice for him!
#AmReading (just read) The Glass House by Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion I have not read Graeme Simsion's famous The Rosie Project but picked this up based on the reputation of that book at uplifting. Easy to read, interesting insights in mental health care.
We can't stop the wars but we can practice kindness in our daily lives. Be present for your moments. Do what you can to bring light and peace to others. Those ripples spread ♥️
#AmReading (have just finished) one of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club cost mysteries I wanted a book I could read over Easter that would be easy to read and charming and this fit the bill perfectly
#AmReading Energy Anatomy by Carolyn Myss. This is probably the most esoteric of the texts I've read as I've explored spiritually. But at the same time it makes sense, expanding on ideas like Michael Singer's.
#AmReading one of Carrie Fisher's books, read by her. I loved Carrie Fisher's bravery, her willingness to speak openly about her problems with drugs and mental illness. Her wit comes though on every page. It's heavy with sadness, nonetheless. Wealth & celebrity are not good for kids 😞
#AmReading Jennifer Saunders' biography, and what a delight it is! The opposite of a misery memoir, whatever that is. She comes across as a fun person who loves life and has a good time. I wish I could be more like that. Absolutely fabulous 😍
This looks like an interesting read Rebecca Solnit has a new book on politics and hope www.instagram.com/p/DVt_ZN1Ac6C/
#AmReading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - audiobook with narration by Jim Dale. This month's bookclub assignment. I am enjoying the magic realism but the plot revolves around a mysterious challenge & it's hard to care about it.
The Greens are opposed to the illegal war so Labor have created a secret war committee to exclude them - and therefore us - from knowing what they are doing.
