Pretty good week, teaching wise. Probably some of the smartest, politest and funniest students I've taught.

Probably my favourite Sam Neil film alongside Jurassic Park. Sad news. He was a staunch ally and a real one.

Giving this a whirl by @chuckwendig.bsky.social Started it yesterday. Read a third already. It's reminiscent of IT by Stephen King (in a good way). Very compelling and the prose just fizzles along.

I didn't show you the odd little cabin I found in the woods. I took a peek inside. Nobody home. Nobody visible anyway.

Finished "Imajica" this morning. It's interesting how it works as a kind of "anti-Bible" overall, subverting the Christian mythos into something broadly inclusive (and queer) but just as spiritual. I re-read it with new eyes. I could write an essay about it. A stupendous novel.
