Nice! As I always used to hashtag on the other app, #DontYankMyRouge
I get that (for some unfathomable reason) nobody gets "fired" anymore. But if you're going to use a flaccid euphemism, why not "relieved of his duties"? Period. "Relieved of his coaching duties" sounds like his job has merely changed. He's been relieved of ALL his duties, hasn't he?
I'm amazed at the legs this review has acquired. When Braveheart and Hamilton were in this position, nobody thought it was particularly interesting that historians took issue with them. Of course they did.
From free-to-access via CBC to needing two subscriptions. The real kicker is the exclusive broadcasting of entire playoff series - hands down, that will be the Leafs. I understand Rogers hiked their subscription price BEFORE making this announcement.
Question not authority. Questioning is hate and lies. Thanks for your attention to this matter.
This is sad news, if not surprising given his reported health issues, which he nobly chose to discuss in public as part of sport's ongoing grappling with legacies of traumatic brain injury. Jim Corrigall was an absolute legend -- the Double Blue Mosca -- as a player and an interviewee.
We're all hugely frustrated. The situation is NOT of FIFA's making: it was a considered decision by the club to go this route. They also charged the same price for my season tickets this season -- for 3 fewer games -- as they did last season. And all of it has been spun as 100% positive.
If only somebody could have seen this coming. But no - as in so many other matters - we choose to hold in contempt the lived experience of past generations.
Wow - there sure are an inordinate number of Partick Thistle supporters on social media today ...
Yes. And as we have repeatedly seen, no one has more respect for judicial independence than Donald "Enemies of the People" Trump.
"If you work hard and enjoy what you are doing and go after your dreams anything is possible." Yes. If your parents are both elite competitive swimmers, your posh private school has a "podium program" and your national swimming program employs coaches commanding million-dollar salaries, that helps.
Many congratulations to Danny Webb, the Argos' legendary equipment manager, on his enshrinement in the Collingwood Sports Hall of Fame.
What a surprise to find the Croatia and Portugal soccer teams wearing jerseys in the Argonaut colours for this evening's match. Now THAT is respect!
The Guardian issues what ought to form an agenda for the higher education sectors of this and other provinces and countries. It's great to see that prominent British people are lending their voices to it. Name one prominent Ontarian who has stood up for post secondary education!
Both are highly deserving of this honour. A bit awkward for Eiben timing-wise, however, considering that he was let go as a coach so recently.
An article from August, 1966. The first sentence: "Canadian football is being improved to death." What fascinates me about the history of this debate is the gradual, inexorable movement of the line Americanizers have drawn in the sand when limiting what makes the game "still Canadian".
There are plenty of world-class footballers at the World Cup, but only New Zealand's Joe Bell is playing two positions at once. 🧐
Behold! the Toronto media's next scapegoat. I expect Raddysh's thinking is that getting run out of town is his surest way of getting into the Stanley Cup finals.
We see you, Nathan; and we appreciate your passion for Our Game and your willingness to stand up for it against the haters in charge.
Yes, that's common, in terms of colour schemes and designs. But the Liverpool FC symbol has been the Liverbird for over a hundred years. I think rugby league is a little more fluid - I expect the Leeds Rhinos were not always Rhinos.
