I always wonder if it's bad- or unproductive- to try to make my therapist laugh. If she's going to listen to me for 50 minutes once a week- I gotta try to be entertaining.
I saw "Threads" for the second time during Bleak Week at @hollywoodtheatre.org . I think I never need to watch it again as I dont think you can match the big screen. For my money, the most disturbing movie I've seen.
Our book is now available at Powell's in Portland! That feels like a hometown accomplishment. Oh and we'll be having an even at Parallel Worlds on September 29th. I'll post more about it as we get closer...
If Brendan Gleeson were to say, "No- you and me are drinking tonight."- who would I be to turn that down? "SpiderNoir" is pretty fun.
Seeing Wayfarer and Oranssi Pazuzu tonight. Definitely my favorite record of the past few years- Gothic Western tinged black metal.
Received a big ole stack of our Pacific Northwest horror anthology. If you'd like one, you can order from the link below or message me here and I'll ship you one from my stash. Thanks to all of the authors who contributed! Now, onto vol 2...
Favorite character on TV right now. Has everything handled but keeps it funny and caring and looks out for her people.
Finished up Silent Hill 2 last night. Honestly one of the most engaging, scary, emotionally draining horror... thing.. I've ever watched/ played.
My sister told me my 11 year old nephew wants "Aliens" comics for Christmas and I think I can handle this.
Just got tickets to travel to Vegas to see the Cavalera brothers do the entirety of "Chaos AD" with Fear Factory opening with two of my high school buddies and their dad. This is height of Early 90s Me- just before the Skinny Puppy took hold....
Saw this on 35mm today and it's probably in my top 10 theater experiences. Knocked me over. The @hollywoodtheatr.bsky.social had to wrestle The Mouse to make this happen. Support those local theaters whenever you can.
I'm going to believe that me putting on Bathory's "Under the Sign of the Black Mark" just caused the 30 minute hail storm here in Portland. Apologies to anyone for the inconvenience.
Watched this last night and it hung with me all day. Very chilling and eerie, if you open your heart up to it. Be sure to watch the 72 minute director's cut though- which I'll post below.
I'll post more later with proper credits, but I produced all the stills for Harley Davidson's Holiday catalog last year and just got to take a look. When you're a producer and not in charge of post- sometimes you don't get to see how it all turned out.
Woah. Small reunion tour. 90s industrial named after Spiderman villains.
Who is going to the Overlook Film Festival this year? I've been the last two years, so considering it...
How did we manage to talk for 90 minutes about "Hellraiser 3"? Well, I suppose this is where it truly branches off into franchise territory. Do those new Cenobites stack up to Chatterer and Butterball? Do we like this new Freelance Pinhead?
Grab your scalpel and your favorite bloody mattress and join us for one of the most nauseating scenes in flim! We chat about "Hellbound: Hellraiser 2" in the latest episode of This May Hurt a Bit.
New episode up! Yes, we're starting "Hellraiser"... all 11 of them. Join us for this Pleasure and Pain?
@dankmccoy.bsky.social of the @flophousepodcast.bsky.social joins us to discuss this favorite! Which gremlin do YOU identify with? And... why I always thought this was a NYE movie...
In our 100th episode, we wrap up all five Cirtters movies with special guest Stuart Wellington of @flophousepodcast.bsky.social ! Before we get into Critters, we talk about "FRANKIE FREAKO" by Steve Kostanski, which is partially inspired by "little guys rasclin' around" movies.
Can Aunt Dee pull a full Lorie Strode and come back to stop the Critters? From Attacking??? We talk the 5th and final Critters movie on "This May Hurt a Bit"s 99th episode!
Maybe I'll post more over here. We've hit "Critters 4" on This May Hurt a Bit, with just one more to go. Link to the latest episode below! Angella Basset and Brad Dourif (and Eric DaRe) run through space corridors- and that's about it- in this sequel.
