Just a test jig for the moment but it seems to fit pretty well. I’ll print the full parts this week once I get some PETG
I asked Claude to design a custom part to connect the cooker hood to the wall output—two different diameter pipes, offset vertically and horizontally. Then I sent the parts to my 3D printer. 👆 that's some living-in-the-future Star Trek shit!
Turns out the psychology of this software team is mostly forgetting you had pre-ordered the book so you pre-ordered it a second time 🤦♂️ I guess I was excited @grimalkina.bsky.social
…but if you're concerned, you can now purchase the optional rapid cabin depressurisation insurance
The shear unadulterated _fun_ you can create with AI these days, like this page for agents/devs to quickly log in as any local account
So it turns out, you can just query ATProto for what apps your network uses! Maybe this will help with discovery—because I sure didn't know about most of these
This cat does not have to wrangle electricians and kitchen fitters. That bunny has the look of someone that does 😡
Send stupid cold out-reach emails? You better get good at answering the hard questions
I love that one of the Irish Air Corps’ maritime patrol aircraft has the call sign “Kraken”
To be clear I expect: - an AI has locally reviewed this code - the developer has reviewed this code - Claude has then reviewed the PR This label is more about "do I need to ask _another_ developer to review this PR?"
I'm pretty definite that if AI is going to write code, developers _cannot_ be on the hook for reading all of it and pretending we understand it. It's an accountability trap we cannot fall into so we need to build systems around us. Still don't know how I feel about this but…
I didn’t like the questions but this is oddly accurate tbh AI is transformative but not as transformative as the companies want you to think It’s good. It’s bad. Go figure out which is which No silver bullet bambamramfan.github.io/ai-compass/
Steve has been fed leftover chicken for over a year now and still this is how he communicates with me
Lzzy and Joe from Halestorm doing an acoustic set in Dublin and bringing more noise than most bands could dream of. An epic gig. Stupidly good
You can justify it to yourself by occasionally making useful things like this hose connector
It’s a pretty small venue too which will be interesting as they normally play much larger venues. I saw The Pretty Reckless there a few years ago from the very back row of the balcony but got much better seats for Shinedown
Made this last week as a bit of fun to tease Podia’s new branding on podia.com (just launched, pending acceptance by the DNS gods). This also marks our major pivot towards community features because, in this AI world, content is dead as a creator business model and connection is everything.
Podia's dev team ships a new maintenance task every 2 days, typically to backfill new columns or move data around for new features. Using github.com/Shopify/main... Managing migrations is a core competency for any developer.
And a few minutes of recording bird song in the garden reveals… (not too convinced by the House Martin—I’ve only seen Swallows—or the Willow Warbler)
