Presumably you don't think UK would meet the criteria — if so, why not? Or are you suggesting that UK should rejoin the EU, and then immediately block one of its key targets?!

Lots of awful news from Venezuela... but I'm not hearing about anything the US response? Are emergency services en route? The USA is in charge of Venezuela right now, Trump has named himself "acting President" — so they have a responsibility, don't they? I see no mention of this in the reporting.

I wouldn't consider that it's "Trumpian" to acknowledge that there is some debate and nuance around a particular subject; rather the opposite, in fact.

The Protocol on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Incendiary Weapons (Protocol III) states (among other things) that it is prohibited in all circumstances to make any military objective located within a concentration of civilians the object of attack by air-delivered incendiary weapons. And it defines "incendiary weapons" as "any weapon or munition which is primarily designed to set fire to objects or to cause burn injury to persons through the action of flame, heat, or combination thereof, produced by a chemical reaction of a substance delivered on the target". It goes on to add that incendiary weapons do not include: (i) Munitions which may have incidental incendiary effects, such as illuminants, tracers, smoke or signalling systems; (ii) Munitions designed to combine penetration, blast or fragmentation effects with an additional incendiary effect, such as armour-piercing projectiles, fragmentation shells, explosive bombs and similar combined-effects munitions in which the incendiary effect is not specifically designed to cause burn injury to persons, but to be used against military objectives, such as armoured vehicles, aircraft and installations or facilities.

So the question is whether white phosphorus is an incendiary weapon or not; and this is by no means established, as it depends on how it is being used. The WHO says that:

The use of white phosphorus may violate Protocol III (on the use of incendiary weapons) of the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCCW) in one specific instance: if it is used, on purpose, as an incendiary weapon directly against humans in a civilian setting. I really want to back this sentiment, but for it to become a reality the world, and especially our part of it, needs to reject capitalism and the billionaire ownership of mass communication channels, fossil fuels, and governments.
I don't see any of that happening in time to make a difference.

We just found out our Al has been making up analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna throw up.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations, everyone loved it.

I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this entire time.

Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing plausible sounding percentages.

I only caught it by accident when someone asked me to double check something. I started digging, and holy shit, it's bad.
