I'm enjoying Into The Wild by John Krakauer. A biography of Chris McCandless who gave away all his money and possessions, and set off alone into the wilderness. I wanted to read it before watching the movie - have you seen it? Hope you're having a great weekend! Happy Saturday!
Just finished Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. There's been a lot of hype about this book & great reviews. I expected a dark comedy, but it was a lot more disturbing, left me with a disappointed feeling. What did you think of it?
I'm enjoying Artemis by Andy Weir. Excellent world building and snappy sassy narrative, but for me, the main character's POV is unconvincing. He does blokey humour well in the Martian and Project Hail Mary.
Happpy Friday! I am enjoying Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid - I was hooked by the beautiful cover by Glenn O'Neill for Penguin, and the blurb about pioneering women. I hope you're having a nice relaxing evening too! 💫
I cancelled my #KindleUnlimited membership because of the assistive reader feature which I was unable to turn off @amazonkindle.bsky.social it makes it tricky to read on my phone screen, please make it optional 💫
I'm 19% through"The Lying Man" by Andy Maslen. #amazon has started a new feature, assistive reader, and I cant turn it off. This is my screen, an annoying banner across the lower 10%, and its really spoiling my reading experience. Start reading it for free: read.amazon.co.uk/kp/kshare?as...
Happy Sunday! I'm enjoying The Twisted Ones by Hugo and Nebula award-winning T.Kingfisher. There is a great dog in this disturbing story...
My favourite colour is also soup. Low brow humour and I'm here for it on a Friday night after a stressful day. Thanks for a fun read @robgotobed.bsky.social ✨️🥳🥂🍻
So the Kindle formatting is a bit ropey, but I will stick with it as I enjoy following @robgotobed.bsky.social on here... the content looks fun!
I splashed out today in @waterstones.bsky.social 🤓 My little reading buddy approves the 'buy one, get one half price' offer. I hope these are great! 💫
This is the beautiful cover. I spent a while on the Alt text 😅 ...now back to my book and I hope you have a lovely evening too! 🤓
A very happy Friday for me! Any book that includes a dog's point of view is a winner for me. This book is excellent! I hope you are having a lovely day too! 🌞🐾🐾💕
Today was working on some illustrations in a media I prefer working with, takes a lot longer but I enjoy it more. I hope my client likes it! and that I've not wasted my time as it is a bit different from what they usually want. Looking forward to hearing your nice wee piano bit whenever its ready!
Diving in to 'From the Earth to the Moon & Around the Moon' by Jules Verne. I visited the Jules Verne Museum in Nantes last October, it was great to see all his books, so beautifully designed, posters of his work. I'm excited to read this!
Very sad to finish Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir - absolutely brilliant. My daughter read it last year then made me watch the movie. Loved the movie so I read the book. It is even better than the film. Love the cover; the photo, type, colours are gorgeous. The book is beautifully typeset too.
I'm enjoying 'The Way of All Flesh' by Ambrose Parry. The cover and internal design are beautiful, I love the Victorian title font and illustrated drop caps. An exciting tale too!
I love that your dog has a favourite composer! My wee furry pal and I will check out Nicholas Ludford. Thank you for the recommendation ✨️
A few pics from the Forth and Clyde Canal. It's been really foggy first thing. So I've been marking progress by the position of the heron, 2 squirrels and the crows. Back to 30min 5K after some bugs and minor foot injury so I'm happy.
My kids gave me a book token (the best present) for Christmas so I treated myself to 'The Examiner' by Janice Hallett. The cover caught me, I love the simple colour palette, the scorpion illustration and hand rendered lettering. It's got some excellent reviews...
Nice to meet you on here! I'm reading The Malt Whisky Murders by Natalie Jayne Clark, dog snoozing beside me. Scones for breakfast at the weekend. Very happy where I am too 🌿🐕🐾🐾🕊 I like your sentiment!
Spent many happy hours browsing in @waterstones.bsky.social Sauchiehall St today, now settling down with The Malt Whisky Murders recommended by @linanderson.bsky.social so it must be a great read!
