I stand corrected... this is in Japan. It one of the first and only large scale commercial renewable projects in the country that I am aware of. Good job by them, but FAR behind Europe, Australia, and China.

If you hate AI & datacenters.... ditch the smartphone. At least delete most if not all the social media apps and get a faraday bag so you cant be constantly surveilled. That is the number one instant, easiest thing any consumer/user can do to slow the spread of AI & datacenters. #1
You post from your phone or laptop... using your internet in your air conditioned home, office, car, whatever? Traveling for the summer... in your fossil fuel powered car or plane?? I'm worried/concerned about the environment as much as anyone but picking a 'boogeyman' to attack isnt a solution.

Data centers are admittedly a problem when purely for greed, fascism, authoritarian purposes. All datacenters (and parking) should be covered with solar panels. All new super datacenter funding/construction should include state of the art 100% free public community/homeless centers.
If you're checking my profile with a smartphone (full of AI), using an social media app harvesting your data: YOU ARE THE REASON FOR THE INCREASE IN DATACENTERS. Disclaimer: Sure I use a smartphone, I don't use it at home and minimal apps installed. Im not the one rallying against AI/DC's tho.
Every data center in America, or anywhere in the world to be required to be equipped with some type of renewable energy equipment. AT THE VERY LEAST every single inch of any datacenter should be covered by solar panels!!
