i have a script that does exactly this actually. it takes in either a playlist.toml file or a directory containing one, and reads in a list of files as well as options for shuffling, displaying an icon on the folder, etc.

screencap of my music desktop. one window is showing a portion of a python script open in a text editor, and the desktop displays several folders with music labels, one of which displays the option "Open with mkplay.sh"

made a productivity tool yesterday, I can now track how much time I lose whenever I open up youtube in my `Media` activity, or whenever I look through my discord notifications in `Game` plus, I get a realtime look at my productivity as 3am approaches lol

you dont know how right you are

i took a drawing class last term, these are my thumbnail sketch notes

"thumbnails sketches" are typically sized to about 2-3 inches, or roughly the size of a thumbnail.

I don't know who's thumbnails are that large though, mine certainly aren't.

(i kinda broke the rules near the end 'cause i was too indecisive about what I wanted in frame)

this may be totally unfair, since this particular `ls` example has an exceptionally easy way out reason being, I have a command `input-remapper-control` that works *like* `ls` (prints one device per line) and yet doesn't have *any* these alternatives. holy hell im never writing bash again

I'd use

files=(*)
```

And then if you need data about the file, such as size, use the stat command on each file.

bash syntax is making me crash out so fucking hard this is an example which is killing me inside. the initial post has odd enough syntax, and needs fixing. solution? depart from the mortal realm and ruin my afternoon with maddeningly more insane syntax. istg how do people do anything with this
