Well I think we can all agree on what the biggest news story of the day is.
I'll admit I can happily enjoy a good UFO mystery whilst also attempting to ensure I remain firmly skeptical... but what the shitting hell is that? Probe Droid? youtube.com/shorts/6TxVx...
This really does look worthy of a cinema visit in October. youtu.be/SLNgHrrMS6k?...
Dennis Waterman's name cropping up last night reminded me to rewatch "Up The Junction" (1968). I've adored Manfred Mann's soundtrack since I found it in my parents' vinyl collection in about 1990, but I also fell for the film's warm, smoky shots of late-'60s London when the DVD appeared in 2008.
Very! And pleasantly cheesy. The mushroominess really cuts through at the end.
Perfect idea, thankyou! It's weather like this that almost makes me wish I were a Bogey...
I dunno, maybe it's just me but I think the increasing stench of outright corruption from the political party currently leading the polls is a touch more important than baby names.
Nobody told me the Old Bill was involved when you're looking at getting solar panels.
Calling this a “sex comedy” is a bit of a stretch, lads. Maybe in a surrealist sense.
I've been focused on other things for months but I swear I'm going to knock these into shape by Christmas this year, they've been haunting my iPad in an unfinished state for too long.
Watching the evening news and thinking to myself "Jenrick's such an oily squit", then deciding to look up the origin and meaning of 'squit' and WOAH, THAT WENT SOMEWHERE ELSE VERY QUICKLY.
And I picked this up. Always up for a bit of ghostly buggering about, I love owt like this*. *For viewers in The South, this translates as: "I adore the British Library's Tales of the Weird series. Beautifully curated and presented, I can highly recommend them to fellow connoisseurs."
Happy to say I was elsewhere whilst that shithouse was holding his pity party.
It's fascinating when you peel back the layers in an older house. Little marks appear, left like scratches on vinyl, such as this little pencil testament to the presence of G(?). A. Williams in Jun 1950 and someone else installing a bathroom in NOV nineteen sixty-something.
Stumbled across a photo I took of a fireplace tile fragment we found when we were doing up our 1893 terrace in Bristol about sixteen years ago. I remember being quite heartbroken to learn that these beautiful old Henry Richards(?) tiles had been binned off in favour of some drab '50s monstrosities.
I've almost certainly whined on here before about the fact I only pay attention to football when the World Cup's on, but that FIFA bloke's a bit creepy, isn't he?
This’ll do nicely until my (entirely real) friends get here. And even if they don’t.
Thought I’d check the new branch of Topping’s out on my way through town (York). My god, it even has ladders! There isn’t a fantasy and sci-fi section though - it has a bloody ROOM.
