retreat and fixed her hair, "I'm still calming down from being late. Do you know what you want yet or should I come back?"
The two men looked at each other with knowing grins and
their usual lecherous looks and postures returned. "Look we've been waiting for you. Now all that waiting doesn't deserve a tip. But you can make that tip back tonight, and double."
She gripped her notepad tighter. The leering eyes... the judgmental looks... the messy baby... the arguing voices of the unhappy breeding couple.. the feel of Jamie's greasy hand still on her arm. She was encircled by ephemeral jackals and needed the hungry pack to back off. "Just order then I don't need no damn tip!" She had snapped just a little too loud. The two men, and the neighboring tables, went silent.
Diane looked up and stared from behind the counter. No one had heard that tone of voice from her.

My wip. I feel like I suck at describing this subterranean lair.

Wanika snorted and Taina gently pulled Wepoma's hand past
her table. This time they opened a door that was almost hidden, dark like the dirt wall around it and flushed in the wall. Wepoma felt the crisp cool air that entered the room, and what lay beyond was a cavern whose walls was covered in whitish stalagmites and stalactites, hanging in cylindrical patterns like frozen lace curtains. The floor steadily spiraled on a downward slope, like a stone staircase, with much more room to walk than in the tunnels.
They passed through several different kinds of caverns, one of which had a large pool, clear and still like blue and
green tinted glass. That was until someone walked up and dipped their hands in it making sudden ripples spread outwards. There were more doorways too, carved doorways where tunnels and rooms had been expanded from the natural caves. In some rooms elves dozed on sleeping mats or sat up reading something or cleaning their guns. In others boxes, crates, or shelves indicated various categories of
