Jay in NH
@jayinnh
Bsky Elder here for a laugh and a hangout with good people. Yes to shitposts. No to politics, activism, advocacy, hate, rage. Habs fan formerly in NH, now in NJ.
A splattered cookbook is a story of contentment. (Pictured is a page in my mom’s first cookbook from when she married my dad. I will note that the pages with vegetable recipes are pristine.)
Too soon? YES, IT’S TOO EFFIN’ SOON! Can we at least have a proper season for one damned thing?
A lot of you are spending your days posting about air conditioning, when you should be thinking about a different AC (Arthur Carlson).
Or maybe you shouldn’t have gotten yourself kicked in the nuts in the first place?
How minimalist can a game be and still captivate kids? How about a football handheld where you could only see nine yards at a time and all game play elements (your team, your opponents, the ball) were all represented by the same thing: an LED dash. I played it for HOURS at a time.
Drop a crush from your youth. (She’s actually on bsky: @dianefranklin.bsky.social)
Found this little number while helping Mrs. Jay shop for a gown at Macy’s some years ago. The look: *eviscerated* snake. NGL, would make a statement on Pam Oliver.
I don’t know who Rite Lite is and I don’t know why they make bizarre novelty Chanukah toys and I don’t know why CVS thinks it’s important to stock them nationwide. But what I DO know is that there is a toy inventor out there who may be criminally insane and he’s found his ideal day job.
It snowed in NJ last night! 🤨 (To the New Hampshirer in my heart, such a puny amount of snow seems impossible. Like going to Costco and buying a single grape.)
Dachshunds are the most insanely engineered dogs (next to bulldogs) and yet so enduringly cute and sweet. Here’s a pic of my long-gone Yimmy, tail whipping too fast to be caught by modern photography.
Hey @discontinuedfoods.bsky.social, I found this majestic tribute to corn syrup in my camera roll. Thoughts?
When Taffy was a puppy, Mrs. Jay liked the idea of dressing her up in cute coats for winter’s. She did not ask if Taffy liked the idea and Taffy made it clear that she did not.
Nothing says “you’ve betrayed me and I will never forgive you” like a puppy after her first bath. (Well, maybe not retrievers.) For @rosalynroy.bsky.social
Taffy reporting in back from her puppy days, when it became clear she would need frequent groomings.
