Math Teacher who loves music. KFBF. Album recommendations always welcome ❤️ HaliSky
While listening to this song, the refrain of “Where has the time gone” really hit me hard. Like, I literally can’t believe that I’m 41 years old. I feel like I’m still in my twenties (mentally). Of course, my body reminds me every day that this is NOT the case.
Ok, I’m back on my early 2000’s rock train after a one-day detour. This song was mentioned in one of my comments and I forgot how much of a gem it was! I love the scream of the lead singer from Trust Company.
Been listening to a lot of rock lately so I needed to switch it up today and bless you all with some good hip-hop. Redveil was suggested to me by a former student of mine. Turns out, he knows ball.
Continuing along with my current obsession with early 2000’s rock bands having a resurgence… Everyone should have some Chevelle on their playlist. The Red is such a banger that it is never skipped while out for a drive.
Ariana Fig is an Ontario-born Canadian singer-songwriter who I personally think is on the cusp of blowing up. The algorithm brought me to her so now I am happy to bring her to you. Please show her some love. Her first LP drops in August. I hope she has plans to come to Halifax!
I am loving this current resurgence of bands who got their start in the 2000’s. It brings me great joy seeing the generation coming up discovering bands like Breaking Benjamin and just rocking their hearts out.
I’m about to go to bed and I realize that I almost forgot to post my song choice for today. So, I went with what I was listening to as I drift off to dreamland. Bon Iver is so soothing to me. This alongside my book… I’ll be out in no time.
I’m having a very bad day. I wish I could just deny the feelings swirling around in my head and just bounce back. Sevendust would want me to do that.
I am ashamed to say that I missed a song recommendation yesterday for the first time in well over a year. I was too preoccupied with the World Cup and UFC 329.
Today, I was pretty useless. Exhausted from a concert I attended last night. However, I had a smile on my face all day even though I couldn’t accomplish anything. And so, the title of my song choice describes exactly how I felt today: A Happy Idiot.
This song is such a cool throwback. It gives me Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson vibes. If that’s up your alley, give this one a listen!
Sometimes, the algorithm blesses me with an incredible Canadian artist that just blows me away. I am so excited to go see Addi John at one of his upcoming shows in Halifax. If you like indie-pop ala Two Door Cinema Club, I think you’ll love Addi John.
I have had the recommendations just flowing in for me to listen to Geese… My verdict: Pretty Good! If you’re anything like me than you will probably enjoy the fact that they sound like a very quirky version of The Sheepdogs 🤪
With Death Cab For Cutie just putting out a new release (I Built You A Tower), it’s got me listening to their entire catalogue. I know that I am in the minority on this one, but Black Sun is my favourite song by Death Cab. I know, gasp!
Student pick from this year that I never got around to. Pleasantly surprised!
Sometimes, the algorithm presents me with an awesome tune that I have never heard before. I then check out the album and I conclude that the entire album is fantastic. AND THEN I FIND OUT THEY ONLY RELEASED ONE ALBUM. What the heck, Autopilot Off?
I woke up this morning needing a jolt. The coffee didn’t work. Cancer Bats did.
This song by A Day To Remember sounds like it belongs on a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtrack. For that reason alone, these guys appealed to my ears immediately.
Happy Canada Day! Proud to feature some good ol’ Maritime boys in The Town Heroes. They’re singing something synonymous with Canada here. Doesn’t get much more patriotic than this 😆
Final student pick of the 2025-2026 school year. I ain’t mad it. This kid was raised right on some good R&B!
Weezer doing a cover of this song last night in Halifax was an awesome surprise. I had to laugh at all of the young pups near me in the crowd just absolutely dumbfounded. “What Weezer album is this song from???” 😆
I have yet to meet a person that has already heard of The Brummies. That is a crime.
So proud of the great music that one of my oldest friends has been putting out his whole career ❤️
This is one of those songs where I can remember the exact place and time I first heard it. I instantly knew that it was gonna be a classic.
Just getting into Saosin now. Any fans out there with more song recommendations?
