My band, Lazy Shell, just released an EP of a few of the tracks from the concert we did at VGM CON back in April! Check out our Linktree and listen to "Stitched Together: Live" on whatever service you get your music from: linktr.ee/lazyshellmusic
My band Lazy Shell's going to be playing the house band set for next month's NYC VGM Jam session at OS NYC; the show's Friday, August 7th at 7pm (doors at 6)! Hope to see some folks there, and stick around later for open jams!
I just recently recalled that while playing 3D World back in 2013, I noticed the pitch of small Toad's yell when falling in a pit was a dead ringer for Braixen's cry, and now you can share in this useless knowledge. One of the fun passive perks of having perfect pitch...
A few months late, but here's a sketch of my team for the Legends Z-A main story! A couple old and several new faves; getting to swap between multiple new Megas was cool (would've been nicer still if Delphox could've gotten in the mix, but Game Freak did non-Greninja fans dirty at launch).
Here's my final 'favorite Pokémon per type' grid, for the Paldea region! Was fun getting a chance to sketch a bunch of guys I've never tried drawing before throughout the project, especially the last few generations.
My band Lazy Shell's debut album "Winter Staycation" is out on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and other platforms! Listen to the album here, and keep an eye out for more video features on the band's YouTube and Insta pages! linktr.ee/lazyshellmusic
Nearly finished with my favorite Pokémon by generation series; here're my favorites from Galar + Hisui!
Everyone's favorite fox mage and mage-in-training, with new Mega flair!
Picking back up with these sketches, here're my favorite Pokémon of each type from Alola! This should end up being the last generation where I'd never sketched any of them before, but I'll definitely still have a lot of new ones for the remaining two gens.
Also, as a bonus, I did a pixel-art version of the final Braixen sketch in wplace a bit ago!
Didn't have time to finish the Alola favorites sketch this month, but here's a couple alternate sketches I had for the previous grids:
Finally time for sketches of my Kalos favorites; most of these are among my favorite designs from the whole series! Had already sketched most of these for something or another at some point in the past, but the last three generations will be mostly untrodden territory!
The setup (I was expecting to play the "S" variant, but Z just happened to show up); took about a dozen resets to get the basically-required Glass + "Start with all tile slots filled", and also have enough Plays/Refreshes to get me close enough for the swap upgrades to get me the rest of the way.
Another month of Pokémon favorite sketches; it's well and truly summer here, and perhaps appropriately, my Unova favorites have a lot of Fire- and Bug-type representation.
Another monthly favorite-Pokémon grid, this time from Sinnoh, perhaps exhibiting some additional bias on top...
Another monthly Pokémon grid, this time with my favorite Hoenn 'mon (or pair of 'mons, as appropriate) for each type!
I'm playing a piano set at VGM CON: Dimensional Riff this weekend! Catch it in person at 3pm Friday if you can (and also pick up some exclusively in-person CDs + merch!) I'll try to live-stream it so you can watch it from home as well, but if not I'll have a VOD up soon enough!
Following up from last month, here's Johto's personal-fave-per-type grid! A few of my overall favorites in this bunch, as well as a couple that couldn't really be helped! (Looking at you, Kingdra)
Happy Pokémon Day! I thought this year I'd try getting myself to keep up with sketching stuff every so often, so I'm planning on filling out a "favorite Pokémon per type" template for each generation! Shooting for one every month, but not going to hold myself strictly to it.
Took a couple of creative liberties, but I'm happy with most of these picks. Some of these were way harder to narrow down than others!
Tower of Trials is getting very close to completion; here's one more teaser showing off the reworked "Journal" menu! In addition, I'll be streaming the first hour or so of Tower of Trials on Twitch this Saturday at 5pm EDT! www.twitch.tv/jdaster64
I usually do a new Pokémon sketch around this time, and playoff baseball's been on the mind recently, so I thought why not?
Here's a sneak peek at a few of the changed / new moves in Tower of Trials!
Another quick Tower of Trials teaser, this time going over the changes to Star Power!
Here's another quick preview of some of the mechanical changes coming in Tower of Trials!
Been a while since the teaser trailer for Tower of Trials dropped; here's a better look at the different rewards you can get after every battle:
As if Battle Bits #007 already covering highly specific janky interactions weren't enough for him already, Rawk Hawk's ceiling prop attack can revive fallen partners!
