RPGs, motorbikes, sysadminery and punditry. Come for the lovely photos, stay for the lefty politics.
Ducati cleaned ready for MOT. Both bikes cleaned, tbh, but nobody really wants to see photos of a Triumph 765RS when there’s a ‘97 Ducati 748 available.
Unprecedented. Maria Herrera won (on track) against her championship rival, giving her enough points to claim the 2026 WorldWCR title. The only problem: she got a penalty for knocking a rider off on the last lap, putting her in second place and keeping the championship alive.
Alex Lowes was the only non-Ducati in the top seven in the second World Superbike session today.
Dear reader, I wish to apologise in advance for my Donington World Superbike posts here over the next three days.
These are the cameras and main lenses. This is a budget setup consisting of Canon EOS 6D and Canon EOS 7Dmkii bodies with 28-135mm and 70-300mm lenses. The 6D full frame body has the wider lens and the wrong strap while the 7D has the longer lens and a comfy strap as that much glass is heavy.
I’ve been following motorcycle racing since the 1990s and I have never seen as dominant a performance as what’s happening in World Superbike right now. It’s very hard to find anything new to write about when the top two places are the same two riders on the same bike, but I try. 😆
My last conversation with John Blanche was around about 1988. He knew I rode motorbikes and wanted to pick my brains. He was learning to ride and aiming for a Honda Shadow as his first big bike. Our paths never crossed again, and we both went on to bigger and better stuff. Farewell, John.
We’re at 3-844 at UK Games Expo. Come check out @sla.industries and our other @nightfall.games stuff! Thanks, @elainelithgow.bsky.social for the sign.
Ok, it’s the week of UK Games Expo and I’ll be driving my pals down on Thursday. I will be on the GMS stall under the @nightfall.games banner at 3-844 selling @sla.industries and all our other games including an early edition of the SLA Industries for Savage Worlds Quick Start in limited numbers.
In the UK, we buy petrol by the litre even though we measure economy with miles to the gallon. Oh, not that gallon, the other gallon. We measure distance in miles though. We don’t know why you changed gallons to gallons though.
I got home with a full tank of super unleaded … and there was a fuel leak. Surprisingly, not on the welds that were just done! No, the leak was at the fuel pump. Did you know that when you remove the fuel pump, you’re supposed to buy and a replacement gasket? No, neither did I. Sigh.
Guess who thought he had enough fuel for a ten mile run to the petrol station with the fancy fuel instead of going to the local one. So many people on bikes stopped to offer help, as did a car!
Your timing. I was thinking “what Star Trek captions?” when the next bloot up was this.
