I’m so tired of my shoulder being broken and hurting that I made a trip to Diagon Alley for some unconventional medicine. (She Who Must Not Be Named made no money from this purchase. I wouldn’t have bought it if it were an official product.)
My karaoke songs Friday night were: “Talk to the Animals” (a version by Rex Harrison’s co-star Anthony Newley) “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” but sadly not Brother Iz’s version “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson
Dinner and #karaoke last night at Brock’s in Woodland, Washington with someone I love. The company was delightful, the food delicious, the staff top-notch, and the karaoke was fun. “I Melt With You” by Modern English “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” by Simple Minds “Witchcraft” by Frank Sinatra
Another issue for my #SameCoverDateAsMe project. Even as beat up as this copy is, it’s still expensive. This issue of #IronMan, cover date February 1973, is the first appearance of #DraxTheDestoyer and #Thanos. #MarvelComics
I just watched “season” 3 of #GoodOmens and I’m a little choked up. What a sweet ending to the story of #Aziraphale and #Crowley.
I’m preparing to head to OHSU for today’s surgery. They’ll be removing a small bone that’s rubbing against another bone, moving that second bone back where it belongs and strapping it in alignment with a neighboring bone so it doesn’t slip out of place again, and fixing that hand’s carpal tunnel.
Nory and I are playing the new #DiceThrone characters Druid (them) and Sun Elf (me) in co-op against the dragon #Naraxus.
I don't post on FB much but what I had to say today was far too long for Bluesky. Please go read it. www.facebook.com/jeff.polier/
I can finally see the end of this train that’s been going by for nearly half an hour and it STOPS just where it’s still blocking the intersection!
I didn’t arrive until after 4:30 for an event ending at 5:00 but I did make it to #BeavertonPride, saw many people who were happy to be in a safe & accepting space, and made a few purchases from local vendors. #Pride #BeavertonOregon
Despite pain (from the broken shoulder) and nausea (a medicine side-effect, in performed four songs tonight: “Singin’ in the Rain” (Gene Kelly) “My Favorite Things” (Julie Andrews) “Come Alive” (Hugh Jackman et al) “I Walk the Line” (Johnny Cash) #karaoke
The good news is that I went to the cinema and returned with no further breaks to my bones. The bad news is that I saw #Supergirl and didn’t really like it even though I wanted to. 😞 No extra scenes once the end credits start. #SupergirlMovie
Amy and I just played Flutter, a game new to us. It’s easy to learn, cute in design, and fun to play. #FlutterGame #PhaseShiftGames #TabletopGames
My Father’s Day request to my kids was that they watch a movie of my choice with me. I picked us up some Hawaiian food for dinner and we’re watching #Highlander. It’s the first time for both of them. #FathersDay #ConnorMacLeod #ThereCanBeOnlyOne
This is my dad, Rick. He won’t see this but I’ll have some time with him today. #FathersDay #HappyFathersDay
A friend had a bad week so we went to karaoke tonight (not at my normal place). We sang “Hakuna Matata” as a duet with them as Timon, me as Pumba, and together for Simba. Solo, I sang: “Draggin’ the Line” “There She Goes” “Suicide is Painless”
Tonight was my triumphant return to Friday #karaoke. I managed to work in four songs: “Heartbreak Hotel” (Elvis) “Superman” (Lazlo Bane) “Live and Let Die” (Guns N Roses) “I Think I Love You” (The Partridge Family) My second song would have been “Heart & Soul” (Jan & Dean) but it wasn’t available.
I just played the solo version of Umbrella from #Pandasaurus. It’s a cute logic game. I look forward to playing against someone(s) eventually. I scored 20 points on the easiest setting which is “not bad!” #tabletopgames #logicgames
Happy National Smile Power Day! #SmilePowerDay This photo isn’t today but it’s only a few months old.
Today’s self-immobilization rope work. This was my third attempt at the harness. The first was just a mess & the next was too loose. This harness is nicely tight but the back a mess. Still good for someone who can’t move their left shoulder. With the harness in place, I secured my left arm to it.
Chewie wanted to cuddle with me but not be pet. He may not be a smart cat but he figured out that if he’s on my left side, I can’t touch him. #CatsOfBluesky
