A few snaps from yesterday's visit to Cirencester for a catch-up with a believed PhD sister
As always, deadline for confirming syllabus approaches and I am agonising between choices. Hoping this is a quick read / will reveal itself quickly as a potential strong contender 🤞📚
Went to my elderly Italian neighbour's for 8am as her landline is playing up & she needed to call the doctors. While we waited to speak to someone she tried to give me a shot of Vermouth and some cake. When I said it was a bit early for me (😳) she said to take it home and bring it back later 🤣
Completed our monthly visit to Spetchley Gardens, round the corner, thanks to a gifted annual membership ❤️
Willow's struggling after getting up early to watch the match. Productivity at an all time low 😴😴
Oooo Li Jun Li is very good in #spidernoir: proper old school Femme fatale style 💋🔪
/ the latter I found partic interesting on complicity and active participation in Gestapo/SS and other Nazi operations by Norwegians during WWII which I noticed the other museums didn't really mention (they celebrated the resistance or at best the submission of ordinary Norwegians under occupation).
Museum 2 was the Norwegian museum of Justice. Stupid opening hours meant a flying visit but some great exhibits on "True Crime" & forensics; criminal lunatic asylum; police uniforms; punishment; child criminals; prostitution; and WWII law and order /
Last day in Trondheim / Norway: museum 1 was the Rockheim museum of rock and Pop. Some highlights for me were the weird 60s dude, the 90s bubble pop, and the spice girls bedroom in the fans exhibition
At #BryggenMuseum I discovered Ragna Breivik's tapestries from first half of c20th. She produced tapestry "cartoons" of Gerard Munthe's illustrations to Norwegian folk songs and fairy tales. Very interesting exhibition abt how she actively challenged binary of women as "crafters" & men as artisans.
Took the Fløibanen to get Sunmer Solstice views ☺️ Met some goats #Bergen
Well we saw it. #TheScream #Munch And a few Judith's stood out amongst the vast collection of Oslo's National Museum. I may be a *teensy* bit obsessed with the beheading of Holofernes 😬
Norwegian Folk Museum, giving fabulous film-set-of-a-Folk-Horror vibes 🖤
