I'm not crying, you're crying. Participated in my last All-Staff townhall today, where the staff team collaborated to give me this thoughtful gift, contributing a word each they thought described me. It's been a privilege to be a part of the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon - I will miss you all.

So...whoever said the Baden Powell trail is only 45 km is lying. Did it yesterday in its entirety and can confirm: it's 52km. Also - ow, my body.

Beautiful day for the #IGWalkForAlz in Abbotsford today. We were a small but mighty group, walking for everyone affected by #dementia. Special shoutout to Ashley for sharing her family's story and to the entire volunteer team who were there bright and early, helping to set up.

Went for a run over this beauty and it's as delightful as you'd expect. The only downside is the awkward approach from the southwest side along Claude Ave (heading east towards the overpass). Otherwise, 10/10. (Video of the new pedestrian overpass over Hwy 1 in Burnaby).

In case you were wondering, yes, the Sumas River got really, really high last week, and thankfully, the second rise in water levels when part 2 of that atmospheric river hit was much lower than the first, which was largely driven by the Nooksack massively flooding. Chart:

I don't want to jinx anything, but it looks like Sumas River is finally starting to tick downward.

Latest river levels show that levelling off was short-lived for the Sumas River. Evacuation order area has been expanded in Abbotsford - check out the city's web page for updates.

Rough night for folks on the Sumas Prairies last night, with 371 properties under evacuation order. The good news is that hydro data seems to show the Sumas River starting to slow down. Officials said last night the Nooksack was due to start subsiding by mid-AM today.

Stream flow and water levels for Sumas River at the Huntingdon station. Still below 2021 levels (good!). Definitely still rising (not so good). BUT - Barrowtown pump station was upgraded after 2021 (good!).

Any article should of him should include her. Rosalind Franklin deserved the recognition and instead she was stiffed by that awful, petty man. (Rosalind Franklin's likeness, btw, is the only bust of a woman in the Old Library at Trinity College in Dublin).
