Loved seeing Oodles of Noodles at @booksmith.bsky.social yesterday! I spent many hours shelving picture books under that mural and imagining the day I'd see one of my clients' books there, and it's just as exciting as I imagined.
Progress as of yesterday afternoon. (I'm farther ahead but this is the last good photo I took.) If I can't have enough justice in the world on my timeline, embroidering a candy-coated goth version is the next best thing
Any excuse to eat salmon is a good one, and @jessieatkin.bsky.social's launch is the best! Jessie also sent me a video of her twin and baby niece reading the book. Her niece gleefully slapped every page (I'm assuming she approves) and filled in "noodles" at the end. I love kidlit so very much.

I saw a bus stop ad for SFPL's Summer Stride and felt compelled to share my reading program badges, from the late 80s to the SFPL Reading Ranger badges that I earned as an adult (just look at it; there is no universe in which I was not going to sign up for that program and earn that pin)
I have seen Carmen at the San Francisco Opera (featuring full frontal nudity) and I have now seen a song from Carmen performed by a Seattle Opera performer's fursona (at a furry brewery). Support the arts if you also appreciate surreal and transformative experiences!
In important Crow News ™️, I am pleased to report that my boyfriend's crows are now my crows (he has complicated feelings about this), and I picked up a copy of my favorite (okay, only) crow-narrated zombie apocalypse novel to celebrate.

Update: it tasted good. So the did the herbed artichoke and parmesan tart with cornmeal crust and Tanya Holland's roasted beets and fennel recipe, from her cookbook California Soul.
Today's sourdough came out particularly nicely (fingers crossed it also tastes good).

When the world is insane, I take a lot of pleasure from plants. I've been growing buttercrunch lettuce in my hydroponic garden (dill and tomatoes too) for the last month and finally tried a leaf today. It's delicious. Tastes like emotional investment!
My dad has his own crows now! (Dad rarely texts actual words, so an out-of-context crow photo is completely on brand. He seemed quite delighted with them when I called to inquire.)

I recently got CHEESE MAGIC by Erika Kubick and spent the lead up to the Imbolc weekend making several of her delicious recipes: burrata with honey and chili crisp, a brie/raspberry tart with homemade black pepper orange marmalade, and a pickled beet salad with "seeded gravel."
