A promo email from my husband's GPS tracker. I feel uncomfortably seen, except why would we use it while he was in a car? Sure, his chances of dying are higher in a car than on the trail, but his chances of needing me personally to call in a helicopter seem lower.
Why not "Some people are going to be upgrading our doors and locks tomorrow and Thursday. Staff should be on hand to make sure you can get in and out of the building, but please let me know if you have any problems"?
I took these pictures of the voting line when I went to poll-watch in 2020. Standard instructions are that if anyone has been waiting more than 10 minutes, you call the mean party lawyers so they can start raising hell.

My new article on common-law marriage will be published next year in Georgetown Law Journal. bsky.app/profile/geor... Email me if you'd be interested in reading it early!
I feel like I'm going crazy. Does anyone think this is a good revision?
I've been on sabbatical all year, so I just noticed the irony in *Canvas* naming their slop tool "Ignite."
How is it that a massive website with gajillions of users has TWO errors in its 17-word contract of adhesion?
Exactly the ethical problem that was discussed when the JAG guy got sanctioned. bsky.app/profile/jenn...
To test my estimate of the time in involved--this was 10 minutes in Word. The line is free-hand, obviously. The only other trick I used is that if you paste in a little screenshot and set the Wrap Text setting to "In front of text" or "Behind text," you can put it wherever you want it.
