Nearly 3.5 billion free school meals have been served since California became the first state in the nation to guarantee FREE school meals for EVERY public school student. Helping children stay nourished, ready to learn, and able to thrive. 🍎

I met with Girl Scouts of California to receive their inaugural State of the Girl Report. Nearly 40% of girls ages 11–18 experienced serious psychological distress in 2024, while less than 2% of charitable giving in California supports girls.

Four years ago, Roe v. Wade was overturned, stripping millions of women of a right generations fought to secure. California has fought back with action at every turn, protecting reproductive healthcare and every person’s right to decide their own bodily autonomy and future.

BIG NEWS: Now through Fourth of July weekend, Californians can get a free special edition CA State Parks Historian Passport for zero-cost entry to 30+ state historic parks through the end of the year. While Trump tries to rewrite our nation’s past, California is embracing it and learning from it!

The 5th annual California State Parks Week kicks off TODAY with 170+ FREE events statewide June 10-14. Our parks are part of what makes California so beautiful, and every family, regardless of zip code or background, deserves access to the natural beauty in our state.

California needs proven leadership to defend our freedoms, protect our communities, and meet this moment. I’m proud to stand with the Governor and Californians across our state in supporting Xavier Becerra and Dr. Carolina Reyes in the fight for California’s future.

Our elections should be free, fair, and safe for every voter and every election worker. Governor Newsom just signed SB 73 to strengthen California’s safeguards against intimidation, interference, and abuse of power. California has no tolerance for threats to our elections.

A culture of misinformation does not happen on its own. It grows when people with power stop treating truth like a responsibility. We have to expect more from ourselves and the industries shaping what we see and believe.

Beginning this summer, every newborn delivered in a participating California hospital will receive 400 diapers at no cost to the family! California families deserve to feel supported during one of life’s most exciting, yet vulnerable, transitions.
